FIB4 Test

Did a follow up visit today with my hepatologist and he did this FIB4 calc for me. He extracted my data and assessed.

Liver disease is frequently asymptomatic, challenging early identification in the primary care setting. The fibrosis 4 (FIB4) index is a liver fibrosis biomarker that is a potential alternative to liver biopsy for diagnosing and managing liver disease. The primary outcome was the number of individuals within each risk category for hepatic fibrosis: high risk (FIB4 ≥ 3.25) and low risk (FIB4 < 1.3).

He showed me on his computer; I am normal.

Great news! I had never heard of that calculation before, but looked up online how the score is calculated and filled in my own numbers with recent results. I was happy to see that I'm in the normal range too. Nice tool!
