You didn't say if you have pbc? All anxiety is, as one who suffers from it, a basic fear of dying.

Cognitive behavioral therapy can help if you can avail yourself of it with a good therapist.

Don't give in to not going place so doing things. Just remember you are not alone. Half the world suffers from it .

Try to be with people and drive short distances, no highways, at first.

I have done well taking baby steps and trying not giving in to this behavior.

The most important thing is trying to relax and know you are not alone.

Hi, So sorry to hear you have this anxiety.

I agree with Dolly67 that you may need help in overcoming this. Do you also have PBC? If so, I would contact the PBC Foundation (follow the link at the top of this post), as I'm not sure if your sort of anxiety is a common symptom of PBC - other than the fact that anyone facing PBC is bound to have degrees of anxiety depending on the exact diagnosis, or the issues of the condition that they experience (it's often very different, for different people), etc..

I also agree with Dolly that CBT is one possible avenue to follow, but as anxiety can also be caused by other medical conditions, it might be worth having a GP checkover. I know that certain thyroid and adrenal imbalances can cause stress, and thyroid problems often go hand in hand with PBC. GPs should usually check thyroid function in PBC patients. If all this proves a blank, maybe go back and have some driver refresher lessons - but get advice to find a good teacher.

Good morning, I get that way sometimes and my easy way out is just to say a prayer and I know I am never alone, God is always watching me and with me................who better? And after a quick little chat or prayer, I start feeling calm and reassured. Works for me anyway, and I use it alot for alot of different reasons:) cyndy
