General question had shingles 6 weeks ago, now diagnosed as PHN.

Can you take pregabalin the same time as your using capsaicin cream for the pain.

My pharmacist was unsure.

So sorry to read that you are suffering from PHN. I had it a few years ago and found it just about as bad as the shingles. Nothing I took alleviated the pain. My doctor said nerve pain is very hard control. I was off work for three months but eventually the pain subsided. I had the shingles on my midriff and halfway around my back. Even now after many years I can feel it, especially when I think about it, funnily enough. I was prescribed amitriptyline tablets which helped a bit. Hope you feel better soon.

There should be no interaction between topical capsaicin and pregabalin. Many effects from pregabalin including difficulty stopping the drug after taking it for a few weeks. There can be ×withdrawal symptoms that should be discussed with your doctor.

Hi ! I had only a small rush - shingles on my left side it disappeared after a month unfortunately I'm struggling with a nerve pains and I'm on pregabalin and capsiderm cream . It is weird as i was fine for a month i didn't take any medicines but the pain came back and it is horrible i feel like all my life happiness is going away and I feel so depressed I hope pregabalin will help , I will be taking it for a month .. and yes you can take them together
