Medical Cannabis, a future hope

It seems to me most companies do not really offer descent CBD Products for sufferers of different health issues, CBD and THC products and I would like to share my experience and learn from people who may have some useful knowledge in this respect.

I hear you live outside the UK.

There are very strict laws regarding the use of cannabis within the UK.

CBD is widely available as an oil or capsule. These have only a trace of thc which is the banned substance.

If you choose to try the CBD then always research the supplier and buy outside UK in mainland Europe. They have far better facilities for research and manufacturing.

Hi B5

Thanks for your post , As you may know UK has it's own share of global cannabis business

cannabis-seeds.co.uk/high-c...

There is a problem with medical cannabis dispensaries all over the world as when you don't get what you expected and not all of them produce a descent product.

I grow in my own place and make my own meds and they work.

in reply to

Thats so good, i wish i knew how i would do it

Even though CBD is legal in the UK now they cannot talk to you about medical issues or even suggest taking it for pain. We have an extremely long way to go until the government realise how much stuff like this is needed for us pain people

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply to

Many GPs and pain consultants do recommend you take it. They just can'r prescribe it.

x

in reply toBananas5

No I’m talking about the actual manufacturers of the CBD products in the UK they can’t wctuslly talk to you about whether it will help or about your pain issues or about recommending products for people’s with chronic pain etc

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply to

There are plenty in UK on line who will advise all sorts of rubbish. That's why I buy David's from mainland Spain.

But other users seem happy with what they buy from UK.

x

in reply toBananas5

Well they shouldn’t it’s illigal for them to talk about CBD helping pain and conditions etc .

I’m very happy with my seller in the UK you just can’t ask for advis off them lol but you helped me with all that so luckily I don’t need it lol x

in reply to

Why an extremely long way has to go ? when majority of civilized world and most importantly science have realized cannabis positive roll in vast aria of health issues ? !

in reply to

I don’t know to be honest our country just does like it at all there is a HUGE stigma of it and unfortunately people just don’t understand what it can do for people in pain we only just legalised CBD oil etc

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply to

One word...money.

Pharmaceutical giants dictate what drugs are used..with the guidance from NICE of course. They make huge profits at our expense.

No gov is going to legalise something which anyone can grow relatively easily. How would they collect duty from it?

x

in reply toBananas5

America do and one state made multi millions from it , they just see it as another thing to make money from which is it and governments could make so much from it they just don’t realise lol

But that’s all political rubbish nd I’m sure won’t change in the next ten years at least here lol

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply to

But how do you control people growing it?

x

in reply toBananas5

That’s a question only they can answer lol x

in reply toBananas5

Do I need to control anyone to grow their Cannabis plant ?

I wish people and governments were educated enough to let it to grow.

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply to

Yes as to grow it in UK is against the laws. Fight to change them but don't break them to suit your own needs.

Hi

Right I agree about companies and they money making concern.

That is why I grow and produce my own CBD & THC products Mainly Caps and salves.

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply to

Do you grow for your own use or as a supplier in your own country ?

To produce good quality oils and salves is expensive

x

in reply to

I absolutely agree with you there and that is a complete disaster of money talking first in this business, we as a people could always fought for our rights.

I asked for it at the pain clinic. The answer was a big no. There was no research to show it works. I replied there was research and I would provide it. I also said I had two alternatives source it on the street or chop myself. I was half joking about the later. Next thing I knew my GP was on the phone asking if I was serious. I told him I was not serious but angry that the British government was depriving people of something that could reduce pain. I guess now I will no longer be able to get codeine. I only take one occasionally to help me sleep

We are so behind. Thailand,

and Shri Lanka have recently legalized it for medical purposes.

I live in Maine USA where medical cannibis is legal. I have not found pure CBD to be helpful in treating chronic neuropathy, but combo of THC with mainly indica strains to be of great adjunctive benefit. Smoking or vaporizing seems to work best, but ingesting it is easier on the oropharnyx.I have been taking it for 10 year's and along with pregabablin and Valium allow me to have a life.

in reply toetheral

I’m so jealous America are so far ahead of us in terms of this, it would give me a life again and at only 27 it’s something that’s needed lol.

So glad that’s worked for you and you can live your life again I bet it’s amazing :)

in reply toetheral

Hi there in Maine USA Dear Etheral

You got a point there about the effectiveness of having combination of bout THC & CBD instead of Pure CBD .

It sounds like we have common issues, I am a feet PN sufferer for about 10 years and I trust my home made THC & CBD Caps ( around 200 mg ) + pregabalin makes me life to pass easier for me am still waiting for charlotte's web seed ( 23-25 % CBD ) to grow .

Best of hope that you can find a satisfactory solution to a painful difficult problem.

Thanks, it is a hard way including some fun combined with pain, be in touched please.

I will be following this conversation closely as I am now an avid herbalist recommending CBD for people who need options.

I live in Oregon, USA, and have been studying natural remedies for 20 years. Last summer when my dog of three years of age was dying and I had a tough time trying to find a vet who would help me. (I finally did and he is doing great!) During that time people would recommend CBD but I knew nothing about it. Then, my customers started asking me what I thought of CBD and the conversation kept coming up, so I started researching and learning everything (well maybe not everything but close) so that I could be versed on the topic.

I found a company I wanted to try and started taking it myself (I always do this before I recommend products) and I fell in love with it! I was in a car accident four years ago and have had hip pain and could not sleep on my left side at all. Nothing helped, not physical therapy, massage, or pain pills. But this product I'm taking does. The pain is gone!!

So I started recommending it and OMG!!! In my twenty years of selling herbal products I have not seen anything work so well and so quickly! This particular product is a full spectrum hemp oil with not only CBD, but CBN, CBG, CBC, and low THC. My understanding is that full spectrum works better synergistically and CBD alone as an isolate is tougher to nail down a proper serving to experience relief! It takes time if you're using an isolate to find the right amount and needs constant fine tuning, where as with the whole plant it works together as a whole and not as hard to get the body to respond to the cannabinoids and to start making and building it's own cannabinoids again and cannabinoid receptors.

I will continue to be a part of this conversation, if you don't mind, because I am now a new fan!!!

in reply toDawn-Rene

Dear Rene

I will be grateful having you in our conversation, did you take CBD Caps, tincture or salve ?

Would tell us about the brand you used ? I used The Best Natural products of caps and ointment with no effect.

Dawn-Rene profile image
Dawn-Rene in reply to

I am taking an oil form under the tongue, twice a day. I need only 5 drops two times a day to see the results I have. No more hip pain. I can now sit on the floor again and lay on my left side. I sleep better, as I have a brain that doesn't like to shut down and now I can sleep more restful. I have better focus and energy in the day.

I would be happy to share the brand, but I want to make sure that I do not get kicked out of this forum. Are there rules about sharing this type of information. I know some groups frown upon it and I would like to stay on this group and discuss and learn more.

I would like very much to hear peoples experiences about thw cbd and thc oils,,i was just prescribed them and tried 2 diff kinds , one yesterday and the other today

in reply to

What were you prescribed for ? and what and how many items you were prescribed.

in reply to

Severe nerve damage, it worked the very first time i used iit, i was completely pain free for the first time in almost 7 years of crippling pain,, next day it didnt work the same, still had some relief but not like the first time, i hated being high so i stopped,,,2 months later tried again and was pain free again, next day not as much again,,,so i used it 4x day and did have better relief but who wants to feel high all the time? Hard enuf dealing with being in bed all day and night but to do that and be in oblivion is horrible,,,im not ready to throw that towel in, thats for the end end

in reply to

Did you use caps, tincture, salve or bud ?

Sounds like CBD/THC capsules of the ratio of 20:1 could help on relief and keeping you alert.

Some companies are not goof as others, We should try to stay with 5 star companies and well tested products

That is why I got into making my own goods...........lol

Sorry to be the one to spoil this party but you can't advertise any products on this forum. Especially those which are illegal within the UK

X

in reply toBananas5

Hahaha

You are not spoiling anything B5

That site is not about advertising it is about scientific researches regarding CBD in Medical Cannabis and dosing guide.

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply to

Please don't shorten my name...I like it and chose it for specific reasons.

This is a UK based forum and you are talking extensively about something which is not available to anyone in the UK

Apart from CBD oils and capsules anything containing thc is illegal.

As such anything which promotes it is advertising.

x

in reply toBananas5

It sounds like even talking about THC is illegal in UK and any forum regarding to UK.

But my mind has no border lines to dig out for the truth

If this is the case here

I think I am going to leave

There are products out there that have little to no THC that work great. I'm taking one that works. As soon as I find out if I can share without getting kicked out of this group I will let you know what I'm using.

in reply toDawn-Rene

Its not illegal to use cbd oil, many people who have nerve pain do use it, ,it helps nerve pain but it dosent stop the pain from the actual injuries, i dont like how ive been feeling from it at all, not at all, its mind altering

Don’t use one with high THC then. I had results with my injury. Don’t give up ever!!

I find the flowers from different strains of cannibis either smoked or vaporized work best for me. They are mostly about 20% THC and 2 to 5% CBD. I prefer a predominantly indica blend as best for pain. High sativa is energizing but causes muscle spasms in my case. Feel free to discuss this further if you wish. Hope you get useful info.🐰

in reply toetheral

Hi

I also use few dif. types of flowers to make my Caps too.

Good thing about CBD is that it also helps for cell healing.

in reply toDawn-Rene

Very strange, i smoked 1 tiny puff 2 months ago and was completely pain free, the next day not so much or the day after,,,then i stopped as i had taken my last dose of gabapentin which is same as pregabalin or lyrica or neurontin,,,its a horrible feeling,,,i still dont feel 100% and im at day 39 from the last dose, many others who have stopped this type of med said it takes anywhere from 6 to 12 months to get back to feeling normal, depending on dosage and amount of time taking it, others only took it for 3 weeks and still had the same issues,, i feel off, double vision in the am, foggy, parts of body go numb sometimes, pain in head, and much more, using the cbd/thc makes these symptoms magnify when i am having these symptoms which are coming and going now,, i do wake up with some days of having clarity, i know as soon as i wake up what kind of day i will have, today not so good, so im not using the thc cbd,,,it see,s to work better when not using it all the time, i dont want to be high all day, ughh,,so today im laying off it and will for the rest of this week and then try again,, 2x i stopped for a bit and it and then when i used it it worked great, but not daily,, coming off any kind of nerve paun med totally compromises the gaba receptors for a loooong time

in reply to

If i use the thc cbd early in tbe morning i just lay on bed like lump for hours, yuk

Sorry to ask but do you live outside the UK? It is illegal to buy any thc products within the UK.

x

in reply toBananas5

Yes I do live outside the UK

Actually I do my search for my pain underground ,,,,,,, funny ?

Yes it is funny

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply to

My question was to Michelle as it says .

No it isn't funny and no one was laughing.

It is extremely frustrating for those who live in a country where cannabis is still illegal and can do little about it.

At least not without breaking the law and that comes with consequences.

x

Dawn-Rene profile image
Dawn-Rene in reply toBananas5

Actually Bananas5, The company I represent is set up legally, and ships to the UK for over a year now. I believe if it has less than .3% THC that it is legal to get and have like the US. In fact I have friends who sell this kind of product over there. It’s just a lot of people are still confused on the issue. Less than .3% THC is almost like nothing and doesn’t have the psychoactive effects.

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply toDawn-Rene

Totally agree. Less than a trace of thc is legal.

But anything more particularly those accepted in USA is not. It worries me talking about medicines which are not available to those in the UK.

I buy my CBD and salves from mainland Spain but I live in a country where cannabis is grown legally - with restrictions.

x

Dawn-Rene profile image
Dawn-Rene in reply toBananas5

Thanks for clarifying.

Yes i live in the USA,,recently several states passed law to permit medical marijuana by prescription, there are only about 5 or 6 medical conditions that one must be qualified, nerve pain, cancer, epilepsy, and couple of others,,now there are other states that are passing law for recreational use, i dont agree with this at all,,i believe it hinders ( especially young adults) from performing at their best ability at work and especially in school, our young have enough to deal with and survive in todays culture without being high, thc makes people lethargic and lazy and it is mind altering,,, (these few states) i believe are using it as an experiment and its wrong,,

in reply to

It doesn’t make everyone who smokes it lazy and people of every age smoke it. It makes people a hell of a lot better than it does people who drink all the time lol.

For medical use it’s a GODSEND and I hope one day the world will be able to see that

in reply to

Yes it does help pain indeed

Bananas5 profile image
Bananas5 in reply to

And if you don't smoke or drink you are up the paddle without a creek!!!

in reply to

Your reasoning on usage of THC part is quite logical and I agree,

That is why I am working on CBD part, I am more into making certain dose of meds testing them and trying to produce decarboxylated highest quality of oil as an starting material for meds.

I believe decarb process is a key point to both Edibles & meds, because decarb process converts inactive CBDa or THCa into active CBD or THC, actually decarb happens in smocking weed but when it comes to Edibles & meds, we would need to activate ( 27 Min in 252 F ) our stuff first.

in reply to

Thats right, it should only be used in the correct form and for right reasons

in reply to

Young people should obstain from using thc period, their brains arent fully developed u til 25 years old, its a fact that when used all day every day by younger people, the brain cells ate killed and do not regenerate like the liver does

in reply to

I haven't seen any article to support brain damage but I have seen reports on Alzheimer prevention effect of cannabis.

drugabuse.gov/publications/...

Dawn-Rene profile image
Dawn-Rene in reply to

You are right Michele, I’ve seen research articles on this very subject. If they start before their brains are done developing, it can become an addiction.

in reply toDawn-Rene

Yes yes yes, i have seen happen to a few back in the day when i was young and ive seen it in my sons generation as well,,,,they fail at being responsible young adults, and used for just recreation

The hardest part of chronic pain is that it consumes me,,,al day its on the forefront of the mind because the pain is ever present,,,all i do is search for help and theres nothing out there for this, they havent gotten that far, we r the trial and error generation for drugs,,i believe 50 years ago 90 % of these drugs werent available or created yet, we are the gini pigs to experiment on
