Dodgy hip

Having a lot of pain from my right hip having anti inflammatory pills codeine and paracetamol any suggestions of better drugs

Hi Geoff , I have pain in my left hip .have had this two months now .I can't take any painkillers other than paracetamol due to other health issues . I have stage T-2.1osteopenia.i have had dexa scan and x Ray on pelvis and hip .my doctor is low reffering me back to hospital for hip Injections and pain clinic .do you have a diagnosis ?

Got x ray on Oct 2 to see the problem but hands and arms get pain to

Oh have you .yes I get pain and tingling sensation only on my left hand and leg .I am to have neurology test in October .hope they can help.you with your pain .I can't get out and about like I used to .so frustrating ! hope all goes well

It could be bursitis that's bothering your hip.

Hi, I've just had a left hip replacement. Prior to this I suffered 18 months of pain, the last 6 months were horrendous.

I have fibromyalgia, OA and gerd/Gord.

Medication I was on for pain was gabapentin max dose, paracetamol and codeine 30/500 and butrans patches 15mcg (you can go up to 25mcg).

I was still in pain, but it was eased a little.

Just to say, you need an xray and possibly MRI.

I too had the injection but it only lasted a day, however, this was enough to tell them it was definitely the hip so my surgery was decided

Hi Geoff, a freind of mine suggests the patches from Gp work very well to control pain with paracetamol migh be worth a try.

I had hip pain a while back doc said arthritus at first xray said not heard about bursitis Google it and found some exercises on you tube they were brilliant felt better in days after weeks of pain just do gently and slowly then build up hope this helps x
