Recently I've been waking suddenly during the night and my body fluids go very hot. This does not last long but it is scary. My carer says it is probably a panic attack but why? My GP checked my heart yesterday and she found nothing wrong. Any thoughts anyone please?

Nightime panic attacks?
Sorry to press you on this but what do you mean by body fluids?
Yes BP OK and Pulse OK too
Obviously it's not following on from a bad dream or a nightmare.
Is there anything in your life that is bothering you but it's not thought about very much until you are asleep and then your mind just remembers this problem.
Other than that I went through a stage of being really stressed and worried, from memory I was not dreaming about this problem at all and trying to forget it as there was nothing I could do for it anyway.
I would wake up once or twice during the night freezing cold as I was so wet but I would keep the fan with me incase I woke up hot(have done a few times).
Keep a change of nightwear near to you perhaps a really light weight cotton one( I found if you just took off your wet night clothes and just slept in bare skin would make me hotter as skin always sticks to skin no matter how you lie or body shape it still happens.
For a while I had it that when I first got into bed my legs would shake,my stomach would churn,I would get hotter and hotter, then I could feel my heart thumping in my chest etc etc,I used to lie there and I sound stupid saying this but I would think of let's say a simple task, making a cup of tea. I would start with filling the kettle, would even warm the cups and use proper tea leaves, stupid but kept my mind on what I was doing and I never got the tea as I had fallen asleep before I poured it.
It's worth trying it's not stupid because whatever works for you personally is your own way of coping with a situation.
I hope I made some sense ,even if you just read it you know you are not alone,I was in my late 20's when it began and although and I know that it's not just stopped, for I feel it could happen to me again anytime.
Hope I have made you feel that little bit better

hi, 5 weeks ago i was waking every 40 minutes with wierd feelings spreading all over me and turning to fear, it turned out to be anxiety attacks, just realising this helped me, and within a few days i was back to normal, so dont rule this out. work on relaxation, mindfulness and all that sort of 'stuff'
good luck
Many thanks TinaJane. It fits
I too wake up hot and panicking. We are having our home carpeted through and I have been having nightmares about it,thinking all the furniture will have to be moved, how will my hubby manage.Solution.My hubby said stop worrying, our son in law is coming to help and there will be 2 men to fit the carpets. As for me, I am being banished to my Grandaughters until all the work is done. This may sound petty to some people, but it has been a terrible problem to me,to the point of making me ill.I am still not sleeping through but my mind is easier.Hope this makes sense to others.
If it works for you it makes complete sense. I am a terrible worrier about anything and if you are not 100% as far as health goes it becomes so much more of an issue and a vicious circle.
You are not alone believe me.
