It seems like my last treatment it's not doing what we hoped for. There's possible progression, which I'll know tomorrow for sure when I see my oncologist.
She seemed quite sure and mentioned possibility of weekly treatment to keep things at bay.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. I can't imagine to do weekly treatment, at the moment it sounds too depressing.
Is any of you lovely ladies who didn't take the treatment and doing considerably well? Able to live, go out, travel?
Other questions is if any of you are on weekly maintanance treatment, can you still do stuff, go out, how does it affect quality of your life?
I'm also open to hear if some alternatives works for you. You can msg me if you prefer.
I'm a bit desperate really, so apologies to anyone to whom this post seems bit too much.
Thank you

I finished weekly Taxol two weeks ago and I’m in holiday on Gozo right now and hiked 14 kilometres yesterday so am feeling pretty well. I found everything cycled round quickly but milder compared with three-weekly doses.
I had one day of hyperactivity, two days of loose-ish motions, one day of slight constipation and it all cycled around again. I was pretty much able to do whatever I wanted although I did suffer a cough for a couple of months. Towards the end of the six months I was quite tired and didn’t always do things I should have done.
I had 18 weeks of weekly treatment and it was easier than the initial line of three weekly doses of carboplatin and taxol. The doses are easier to take and although I was travelling about 50 miles each way it was still doable. You never know until you try a thing how you will deal with it. Good luck.
I am on weekly taxol, 1/2 way through. I do get a bit tired but a quick nap at tea time seems to be all I need to get over this. I also have loose bowels for a day.
I have found this to be the kindest treatment I have had. Xx
I'm at the same point in the weekly Taxol and have absolutely no bowel problems but like Debonair1 I have found it to be the kindest treatment and it's my 5th line chemo treatment. I travel to London every Tue, stay min 8 hours in the hospital then travel home for 1.5 hours and, even at 65, I find it doable.
Go for it Iva13 and stop if you find it too tiring - why wouldn't you?
I found weekly more tolerated than anything else so far. Almost normal energy. It traps you because the weeks come round fast but side effects almost non existent
I had weekly Taxol, &found it easier than 3 weekly Carboplatin. I travelled about 30 miles each way for treatment. For part of the time I was also having weekly dressings locally on another day for a foot ulcer. And my husband & I did a positive living course at our local hospice 1 day a week for 4 weeks while I was on treatment. I learned to take everything a day at a time, & coped with it all. Di. Ps Near the beginning of the course I also went camping with my family for a long weekend & enjoyed it.
We are all so different it's hard to advise another, mine is epithelial 3c with huge amount of 'seeding' still remaining after Carboplatin/taxol/Avastin, then debulking, then more c/t/A then just Avastin. A year on and I've just started 2nd line of Carboplatin only, my big problem is abdo pain due to the seeding slowing up my bowels, but no drain though.
Do you still have your drain in? That must make things awkward, though you will hear from lots of ladies here who do all sorts of stuff during treatment. I went to Iceland last November and Spain for New Year.
I had a friend who insisted I could beat cancer without chemo drugs and to be fair to her I researched it a lot / I found the science dubious and the claims spurious. BUT not everyone wants to go through the side-effects of chemo etc. That is YOUR CHOICE and yours alone- but if you have family and friends you care about you might want to discuss it with them.
You might find help with the experts on this site and MacMillan etc. But do be careful about Googling stuff, it may be out of date or just plain wrong. I do Google but with caution.
Whatever you choose to do I wish you the very best of everything.
I'm on weekly treatment (maintenance) with Avastin and Toptecan. I just miss work on the day of treatment, and I have mild fatigue. But other that I don't feel too bad.
