Feeling really rough. Had 3 bad nights so far what with coughing, unable to breathe unless sitting up (that makes sleep difficult as well). Can't take my MTX or anti tnf this week and now the joints are starting to be painful and stiff. Saw my rheumy nurse yesterday who did say that if the cough continues to see the doctor (not always easy to achieve). On anti biotics for the infected wisdom tooth which seems to have responded and both the nurse and the pharmacist said the Amoxicillen should also stop any chest infection developing.
Coughing up some foul tasting rubbish though (sorry),sinuses are blocked, chest hurts with all the coughing (or is it something else?), threw up Wednesday night as coughed so much, keep feeling sick and headachy and generally feel ill. Lost my appetite and can't taste anything.
Never known a cold come on so quickly and then descend onto my chest. Usually it takes several days. Berry dog is very sympathetic and every time I cough (which is often), looks so concerned. Tilly slept on the bed with me Wednesday night as felt so bad, had a hot water bottle as well and put on my warm winter PJs, so was nice and cosy. Still in the spare room so as not to disturb Himself who doesn't want to go down with whatever I have either.
Had Nurofen this morning to deal with the Rheumy aches and pains and hope I don't get a proper flare up before next week when I should be able to have my MTX and anti tnf again.
Now going to have a cup of soup - at least it is warming even if I can't taste it. Perhaps some marmite toast as well. LavendarLady x

The days (and nights) spent in a viral fog of snot and coughing seem to go on forever don't they?
I'm glad to hear that Berry puppy is being an attentive little pup and helping you to keep warm and snuggly - they do seem to understand
I hope that you soon start to feel better,
Hugs,
Cece x
hello LavenderLady - poor you, i don't know if this will make it better or worse but today i had to call my rheummy nurse (dentist put me on 2nd dose of antibiotics but wanted me to check with nurse to make sure it was alright since i had the steroid injection a few weeks ago and have a sore throat as well) anyway it was but she said when you have an infection like the tooth abcess that usually will bring on a flare of the ra, lower your immune system further and be more susceptible to any bugs doing the rounds so you may already know that but passing it along!!!
Hi LavendarLady, so sorry your feeling so poorly, you really don't sound good. (sorry to state the obvious)
I just want to wish you well and hope you get better soon, not much we can do about these dreaded coughs and colds, just rest and plenty fluids as they say.
Thank you all. Feeling a little better today but still got the awful rib rattling cough. Tooth has really settled down and hoping the anti biotics get to grips with the cough as well. Don't really want to have to go onto more anti biots. Had to cancel my blood tests on Friday as I didn't think Nursey would want me sneezing all over the waiting room so now scheduled for next Thursday. Still in the spare room, still not sleeping very well, still got Tilly lab for company, Berry pup still worried every time I cough and Minniecat is staying well clear. I don't blame her either.
I think I am now on the mend so the next few days will make all the difference.
Funny time of year to go down with this.
Saw my son this morning shopping with the grand children. Olivia also has a cold. Think I picked this one up from her a couple of weeks ago as she and Matthew were both snuffling. I will have to stay away from them if they are ill, with a compromised immune system, we seem to catch everything going.
