I used my 1st new injection pen this morning and I can honestly say I found it so much easier than the push button one. You hardly need to press down on it before it fires, so it's definitely got a hair trigger. I'm very happy with them. Makes a change for something to go my way for once 👍
I also found it didn't sting at all, maybe because I don't use those little packets of evil they call wipes ( I hate those with a vengeance ) I just wash the area I'm going to inject.
So all in all I'm happy.....for now 🥰

When I started injecting biologics over W10 years ago, the nurse who came to teach me how to inject, said that I shouldn’t use the supplied wipes because they harden the skin.
This is interesting….do you think it could be the wipes that are making the injections sting? I’m really happy with the new style pen in so much as they’re easy to use and much better to handle but have really noticed the sting. Come to think of it the new pack of wipes are a different brand…maybe I should try without the wipe next week and see how that goes.
does anyone have a picture of the pen? I came off methotrexate a few years ago but now they are putting me back on again and they said I needed to come in for training on the new pen but I assumed I would be ok as I already inject abatacept etc
hi, thanks for all of your info, I am not on metho at moment as it was making me really ill after about 15 years of use, but it is handy to know what new pens are in use x
Well had the "joy" of using a new style MT pen last evening, all seemed to go well, think took it off before 5 second count but it had done the second click and the window showed the blue cover down. So I wasn't sure if it had all gone in , today my symptoms tell me a full dose had gone in. It did sting a little , but soon wore off. All in all seems much better pen to use.
