I didn’t experience any of those whilst on Benepali but had the cough and recurring chest infections whilst on Methotrexate prior to starting Benepali.
Are you taking MTX as well as Benepali? In which case perhaps it’s not Benepali causing your problems.
Hi, yes I had a mild cough and sneezing the evening of taking benepali, sometimes lasting into the next morning, never longer. It more or less stopped after about 6 weeks, just the occasional sneeze.
I also had indigestion the first few weeks of taking it, but that settled fairly quickly. I take pantoprazole anyway due to taking high dose voltarol.
I too am on Benepali and developed a cough for over a year before my consultant suggested that it could be due to the side effects of the drug. I occasionally also lost my sense of smell and taste and it turned out to be my sinuses. When I visited my GP he examined my nasal cavities and said one side was more agitated than the other. I now take a steroid spray once a day which stopped the nasal drip and the cough. Mention it to your GP next time you visit x
Hi, I’m on Benepali & have been for about 3 years. I’ve had a cough for 2 months, driving me mad. I’ve heard a few people have had a long term cough. I was told my chest is clear despite coughing up stuff & that it’s a virus, classic!! The worse thing is I can’t use my CPAP machine (for sleep apnoea) because I wear a full face mask & coughing with it on not good!! Cough is slowly getting better thank goodness. So hoping your cough is not related to your Benepali injections?!? Good luck x
I use a CPAP machine too. I can sympathise. I have a similar problem but I use nose pillows instead of a mask which I couldn't cope with. The nose pillows are better for me but I think using a CPAP machine causes post nasal drip and I have had several sinus infections as a result and constantly suffer with excess catarrh. The Doc's also say my chest is clear. Sometimes I feel like stopping using the machine because of it but then I would be more fatigued than usual. Dilemma.
My acid reflux was out of control while I was on Enbrel. I would wake up in the middle of the night with burning and coughing fits that would not stop until I coughed out loads of phlegm (sorry TMI) and took some Pepcid. I was already on omeprazole 20mg. Once I stopped the Enbrel the reflux stopped too. Best wishes to you.
I wouldn’t get another either. She is a wonderful dog and I love her dearly but this disease keeps me from giving her proper attention. I’ve had her since birth and she will be 11 years old on July 19.
