IgA kidneys and Having high cholesterol not... - Kidney Disease
IgA kidneys and Having high cholesterol not related to my diet.
the type II diabetes tables named Dapagliflozin (FORXIGA) Tablets 10 mg 28
Type 2 can be reversed. Life style change is needed. I gave up sugar. It was destroying my kidneys, liver, and my doctor started thinking I had diabetes. Not for me. Nope. I choose to change all my eating habits. More fruits and vegetables. Very if no carbs but not cutting them out because the body needs some carbs. No sweets. It's like an addiction for real. Hardest thing to do. I now understand drug addicts is getting off these mind controlling substances.
Man is messing with the cows, pigs, turkeys, chickens and now the fruits and veggies. Do we have to start growing our own? I have. I am growing potatoes to eat ever once in a while after soaking and boiling them, I season and then air fry. Better than any potato chip.
Anyway, Mediterranean diet is a good start.
I m following Dr G goodbye lupus I ate raw most of the meal and drink 2 littre of green smoothie as her protocol. I sometimes ate cook vegetarian dish and I feel good. I ll see next blood test if things come out better. I m very hoping this diet
My daughter has Lupus. I am so sorry. What causes Lupus? That is the question I ask myself all the time.
My daughter, her best friend, and the next door neighbor use to cook and eat fish caught in the North Carolina lakes. I told them to stop because the lakes has fish with this disease. These scientist tried to warn all to stay out of the water and not to eat the fish. They even wrote a book, "The Waters Turned to Blood." North Carolina author was one of the scientist trying to warn people. I purchase so many of those books and gave them to everyone. Try to find that book. It's been many years ago. I purchased them at Barnes & Nobles. If the scientist are not finding the cause of Lupus and other autoimmune diseases fast enough, we must investigate to help them.
Bless you!
Hi Jessica,
Wow, you have done an incredible job keeping your IGAN controlled if your kidney function is 67!
However, I can understand your feelings and concerns about all of the changes made by your nephrologist. Just remember that this is all a process and journey.
As far as your IGAN getting worse; and not being able to have children;
at this point, I'd give your doctor a call or make an appointment to go over all of your labs, discuss your cholesterol, what can be done to lower it and why he prescribed a diabetes medication for you.
I'd also address any other questions and concerns that you have. Write down your questions and the doctor's responses.
The elevated cholesterol every patient is different, but it's not uncommon for kidney patients to have elevated cholesterol. Yes, high cholesterol can also be genetic.
What you can do help this is eliminate red meats, fatty foods and foods with saturated fats. Replace them with fruits and vegetables, fish, egg whites and plant based protein.
If you haven't seen a renal dietician, I would ask your doctor for a referral to one, as they will look at you labs and give you food suggestions which are both appetizing and nutritious.
I know as I am a Membraneous Nephropathy patient, which is the sister disorder to yours.
I also have Hashimotos hypo- thyroid, which I am medicated for.
This is another autoimmune disorder, which can elevate cholesterol.
I am not diabetic, but I am attentive to sugar as it contributes to inflammation which can cause a flare up of autoimmune diseases such as my thyroid and kidneys.
I am very attentive to my diet; eating no red meats, high fat foods, only plant based margarines, drink water daily and walk about 30 minutes per day.
Its a lifestyle.
Meet with your doctor and get all of your questions answered.
Stay positive and please let me know how you are doing. I'm happy to support.

Thanks so much for your supportive advices. I start dieting since I knew I got that disease mostly eat veggie and seafood and rarely other meat or just a sample. I did intermittent fasting and drink apple cider with warm water every morning and I m working on eating more raw veggie and work on my thoughts. I believed in healing in nature way loving yourself I listen to Louis hay and try to heal my past and also try to be in the nature as much as I can. I listen to subliminal music and ho oponopno an ancient way to heal etc . I think the thought and mental is a root for our immune disorder
Hi back, Jessica,
You're so welcome! I'm glad that I can be of some support. What we have is different than CKD and is treated differently.
At this point, I'd ask your doctor about the Apple Cider Vinegar as it may be too acidic as well as foods which are best for you.
Basically kidney patients eat a low protein, low sodium diet ( 1200- 2000mg sodium per day), watch dairy and potassium consumption.
Red meats, and high fat meats as sausage, bacon are not the best.
Skinless chicken, turkey, egg whites, fish as salmon and haddock might be better choices than shrimp as they are lower in cholesterol.
There are many great vegetables which are healthy for your kidneys. Onion, red and green peppers, cauliflower, cabbages, green beans, kale, lettuce and cucumbers are all good.
Apples, berries and pineapple are also excellent choices.
Avoid fried food; bake, grill, broil are better.
Porridge, wheat toast and egg white omelets with vegetables make great breakfasts.
Make sure that you drink plenty of water and avoid dark colas and NASID pain relievers.
Look into seeing a renal dietician.
I also believe healing in nature and listening to beautiful and calming music is good for both the body and soul.
As far as the autoimmune disorders, I wish that they were mentally based, but they aren't. Not eating foods which cause inflammation to flare up and breathing certainly helps.
I'm going to read about ho oponopno as it sounds great and southing.
Again, please reach out again and let me know how you are doing.
I care.

Hi Jessica. I am much older than u. (68 now) . I am also Asian and on the lighter side. I am insulin dependent for almost 35 years. I have my first child at 30 and my second at 40. My kidney deteriorated a bit due to being a diabetic and birth of two healthy boys. I was like you, I had fear of having kids would damage my kidneys. With the help of my wonderful medical term, I had little problem and minor issued addressed. No regrets, my boys are the joy of my life. Take good care of yourself and hopefully your kidneys stay healthy.
