A quick update

I had to cancel my scan and also the cystoscopy because I got a text from the doctor saying I was growing an an infection I just cannot get rid of this damned thing - it never goes away so yet more antibiotics and cystitis as well.

I went to the home grown version of DBT today and it consists of 2 lovely ladies who are fit and well asking me all sorts of questions . I keep telling them I am dog tired and fed up with this ckd but it falls on deaf ears - I don't think it is suitable for me - unless they come up with a miracle cure - they just made me feel even worse.

I am giving the investigations a rest for a while because I got so stressed out with it all - I will try again in a month.

I’m so sorry you had to cancel and that you are getting another infection . I wish I had some advice I could give to cure you of these infections I know how much stress they put on you. I don’t know what DBT is and who these ladies were that made you feel worse I’m sure they thought they were helping . You know what work for you and what doesn’t my prayer is you find something that help you health wise and prayers to help with your anxiety .

What mental illness is DBT for?

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of talk therapy for people who experience emotions very intensely. It's a common therapy for people with borderline personality disorder, but therapists provide it for other mental health conditions as well

might want to give itr anohr try

Try to keep n mind that all therapists are there to assist and not comminerate. When you break a hip and the physical therapists make you walk.. it hurts and not fun but they do what they do to help..you can stay in bed and complain and not try and get better.. it will be your choice.. sometimes we all need to acceps what we do not like . Your recovery is up to you ande as more of your problem is metal illness also remember that although being afflicted with a mental illness is hard.. it is also hard for all of your family and friends..

there i no miracle for CKD or type i diabetes of CHF... IT IS HOW WE LIVE NOT HOW WE DIES THAT MATTERS

Sorry about your infections....two things your diet do you know sugar causes bacteria to grow and give you infections doctor or nutritionist should make sure you are not eating sugar or sweets at all, this includes fruit and fruit juices that are high in sugar like oranges. Have more tart fruit like blueberries, cranberry juice no added sugars. Number 2. The antibiotics you are on you may have become resistant too. the antibiotics you are onyou might need new antibiotics thru iv for a week or 2 to rid your infections oral pills do not get rid of cysistis...you need to be more aggressive fight with your life be more demanding of your doctor infections not going away or constantly recurring needs to be addressed with an infectious disease doctor who specializes in infections

Thanks for your reply. I am extra careful with my diet but these infections do not go away. Also trying to get to see someone on our NHS is as rare as hens teeth.

I dont remember if I told you this before, but my first nephrologist told me to drink baking soda in water instead of cranberry juice for bladder infections. One tsp in a full glass of water twice a day. It gave me gas pain, so I only did it once a day instead. The theory is that infection cannot live in an alkaline body. I am supposed to be doing it now for my kidneys, am stage 5. The main thing I notice is a change in how food tastes now, more bland.

Thanks for that - I will try it.

Sodium bicarbonate comes in tablet form. My nephrologist has me on 2 twice a day. CKD stage 3b

Not sure if this is available in the UK but perhaps it could help your constipation.
