Yippee ok to walk Bertie

Hi all I had my three monthly check up today- bloods all fine. I asked my consultant about total shielding - her response was that the 12 week rule stood but the advice covered all blood cancers from those who are v poorly to those like me on watch and wait. She felt it was reasonable to walk the dog provided I was on my own. Just a relief and removed the guilt of going against the ‘do not leave your household’ rule. Hope you are ok and staying sane. Jx

I dont think you should feel quilty about walking your dog, the refuse people collect our bins 4 abreast in the cab.

I've been in the same boat, I'm lucky that I live near some fields and I walk Tilly my Border terrier very early in the morning, I dont see anyone . I'm back usually before 7AM.

My numbers have been good since November, next appointment June, by phone..

Stay safe.

Still think we're getting mixed info but I haven't had a letter from GP so I am walking my dog twice a day, shopping etc. I'm just on Aspirin for now.

I have a miniature schnauzer Bertie who has had three walks today - spark out in the sofa now - I wish I knew how to post a picture 😍

My partner had a letter from Guy’s Hospital advising to shield. Consequently he was registered on the Gov website. This lead to the opening of priority delivery slots at supermarkets. Despite saying that shopping was possible, I nearly fell one day when going out the front door. There was one of the Gov food deliveries!! Fortunately a couple of days later a phone call was received to enquire if all was well and those parcels cancelled. Best to leave them for those who cannot do without them.
