Hi Prometheusa3b,

Drusen is the usual precursor to dry AMD developing; it is the early stages of the condition. It is evidenced in an eye examination by yellow/whitish deposits appearing on the retina and macular area at the back of the eye.

It will of course be evident in wet AMD, as we are told that anyone who develops wet AMD will have a small amount of dry AMD (probably drusen) in evidence.

For a scientific answer you will probably have to ask a hospital ophthalmologist!

Best wishes
