Join LUPUS UK and other charities, clinicians & patients to ask the Prime Minister to remove VAT from factor 30+ sunscreen.
Sunscreen is an essential healthcare item for people with lupus and light sensitivity. Many struggle to get it on prescription despite qualifying & the high cost can prevent some from using it as regularly as they need. Join the #VATBurn campaign to make sunscreen more accessible.
Thanks for posting this which, as a SLE sufferer, I welcome.
Neither my GP nor Rheumatology Consultant will prescribe suncream but they always strongly advise using it! 🙃 Prescriptions aren’t free for me (I pay for a PPC), so if Drs/Clinicians would prescribe them, they wouldn’t actually be ‘giving’ me that much anyway …..
I am a bit surprised the letter doesn’t mention that suncream with a ‘5 star’ rating is preferable . Never mind, it’s a starting point at least 👏
~ Happy to ✍️ & support #VATBurn campaign ~
{ I have recently had an Acintic Keratosis (pre cancerous skin cancer) patch removed from my scalp, & am awaiting removal of two more, so this important campaign caught my attention }.
UVB Sun Hat Campaign next please 👒🌞🧢 ….. I spend a fortune on blackout lining to line my many hats as UVB hats are very expensive…..
I find it strange that doctors are not prescribing sunscreen. I have been prescribed Sun Sence ever since diagnosis without any problems I use it everyday the year round.
