During this latest flare I have terrible restless legs, is this a symptom of lupus? The pains in my legs have been so bad my sleep has been compromised and I've needed NSAIDS to reduce the pain levels in my knees and ankles.

Restless legs, is this a symptom of lupus?
I have fibromialgia and sjogrens amongst other things. My legs and ankles get restless at times. The only her night my ankles woke me up three times, couldn't stop moving them. I am on all sorts of meds. Nothing helps with anything I have. Feel like coming off the whole lot.
I've heard there's no cure for restless legs. I don't have it all the time but I have noticed it's really bad during this flare. I'm sorry to hear your are so bad. I watched at TV programme on it and I had no idea how bad it can be. I didn't see anything on there that I could suggest that any of the people featured on there found useful
Hi, sorry to hear about your symptoms, I have them to. When the weather changes so does our bodies. I found that getting up and moving around with muscle relaxers do help. Also, potassium. A warm bath and warm socks from the microwave eases the symptoms. Lupus can cause those symptoms. Can I recommend a book a fellow lupus friend here recommended, its called "the lupus encyclopedia " get it if you can from Amazon. It has a world of highly informative information and incite. Hope your legs listen to you. Keep the faith. thestorm😊
Hi, ask doc to check your kidney function. X
My daughter has had a very good result with acupuncture for restless leg syndrome. Try it.
Thank you SH55, like you & I’m sure many others on this site I get restless legs also. It is heartening to here that good acupuncture may help with this,
My best wishes always

Does she have acupuncture regularly or was it a one off treatment? Either way, if it works that's a real bonus as many people find nothing helps. I'll see what's available in my local area. Thanks for the heads up.
She had it twice which worked very well. Since then has had a baby and is now pregnant again. She has had it twice again with good results but may need another session. She says it all depends on the practitioner and what is going on in the clients situation. Certainly worth a go though. Good luck. It’s horrible RLS. I have had it badly in the past but am fine now.
My partner (who doesn't have lupus) has dreadful RLS so I'll recommend it to him. My flare is coming to an end now and my legs are more settled so next time I get a flare I'll get something booked in.
I'm glad you're ok at the moment, it gives hope that there is some relief from the horrible symptoms.
