Yoga?

Just found out I have lung cancer. I want to stay active does yoga really help?

Yes. Do stick with it. You may have to make adjustments for fatigue but exercise seems to have a positive effect on recovery. I’m just learning about this.

Livestrong at the YMCA, Gilda’s Clubs and Cancer Support Communities all offer yoga classes. That 3 groups with proven track records offering it. You can’t go wrong.

Absolutely!!! The beautiful thing is that Yoga is not a competition & its something almost everyone can do. I have stage 4 nsclc , copd, emphasema, & degenerative spine disease. I go 3x a week and have been for the past year. It keeps me flexible, has allowed me to build strength, and it has helped my balance & coordination. I prefer a yoga studio over the classes held in a gym which seem more like aerobics classes. I hope you give it a try and stick with it :) Best of luck to you!

Hi I was wondering how old you are if you mind me asking. I’m want to eventually try get my mom to do this. Right now I’m just thing to get her to get up. But it seems like it really helps you. So I’m praying once I can ge their up she will possibly do somethingime this.

I am 60 years old & my body has been through it all......all the chemo available, radiation, and 2 clinical trials. I understand the fatigue and body pain, but it does help. I hope you can get her to at least try a few easy poses....

Yes! Diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago. Had my upper right lobe removed-

I do yoga consistently and my oxygen level is 100%

It’s great for breath and your mind and your body!
