Hi it’s getting real crazy here in NY! I’m only a few miles from City in Long Island close to Queens the largest area of the Virus in NY! If u have symptoms u may or may not get a test! They’re very strict about giving tests! So strict they’re killing people! My friend got test and was sent home! He passed out , brought to hospital and has Pneumonia! All my doctors are closed and if regular people get sick we sure as He k won’t go to hospitals cuz they’re all filled with CV! I’ve called the health department for answers, but they don’t know either! A very nice young lady tried to help me to get someone to get food for me! I’m very lucky cuz since my pneumonia in August and 2 relapses, the last in January I havnt been breathing too well! Asthma and wheezing all the time. Last time I saw my doctor, he said I was wheezing too much and had to stop wheezing! I said ok what we doing! Nothing he wouldn’t put me on much needed Prednisone ( This was March 9) Well boo hoo on THE MEDICAL PROFESSION!!! Haha Since I’m so darn bored I was cleaning out my meds and fount Prednisone! I’m happy to report I’m breathing better on Prednisone! Just not sure what’ll happen when I run out of Prednisone! I also found a stash of Plaquinil that my Rheumatologist gave me and another doc tuk me off it! I won’t take Plaquinil cuz I do have Heart Disease and my Cardiologist at the Hospital cancelled my appointment! Better don’t wana go to any hospital now! I’m seeing this morning on tv Doctors by phone or internet! I guess I got it all covered! Lol... I’ll call them if need be! I have a fryin The VA where my hubby is and miss him terrible! We FaceTime! This friend gave me a number of a Doctor & Care person who was going to help me get food! Well she called and gave me an addyof a food pantry miles away and when I asked her if there was anything closer she said oh yes right in ur town! Knew at that moment she was full of it! Well my friend called me about a week later to follow up! He told me I was given wrong advice and he was sorry! He’s going to help me! The next 2 weeks are critical in NY and I’m not going out! Haha even my 3 poor cats on a diet Lol! My sister Nanny 23 days I say too much, but I’m lonely as Heck with no one around! She has 3 people in her house and it makes a difference! I’m talking so I don’t PANIC! Do u know I’m a caregiver my whole life and I even tried to volunteer early in The pandemic and they wouldn’t allow me to! I really felt wanted then! I’m ok I’m just nervous and this just chatter! I’m sorry! Be well and safe! Godspeed

Chatter away, Deb.

We have been worried about you in NYC area with all you’ve got going on.

I was glad to see a couples of weeks ago you were NOT going to be volunteering. ( hard to keep a good woman down- in know you really would want to if you could. )

Tie in with us here and your family on line. I know it’s not the same- but we must right here- right now- remember to count our blessings. The ability to go on line and connect is one of them.

Why am I spouting a simple platitude like “ remember to count your blessings?”

it’s too hard otherwise and we ( at least I will be) will be overcome with self indulgent feelings of fear and self pity ... even though justified am afraid I won’t enjoy it much and it will cloud my judgement.. and I need my clear thinking right now.

For some reason I’m the reality of this what used to sound like a trite platitude on a greeting card at the supermarket doesn’t sound so superficial anymore...

In some strange way I also feel like I will dishonor the memory of those sacrifices and suffering of the ones that have gone through this in both our not too distant pasts and distant pasts.

I feel like it’s our turn now... I just hope Ebola ravaged countries can catch a break. They are due one. Just my weird stoic perspective...

It’s eerie how history repeats itself. But it will pass- it always does. We just stay tight- and network. We will love each other well!

So are you ok in your home for now? For how long? What about Red Cross or Salvation Army?

I’m ok just got ants in my pants! Someone will call me tomorrow for hopefully shop for me! I refuse to go out! My bratty cats keep me company and of course Keith, but he can’t understand why we can’t go see his Dad at nursing home! Luckily there is no Coronavirus there so far! Thanks for asking! I went thru phase where I thought for sure I had it! I’m 66 and have terrible phoniba about number 6! I felt wen I turned 66 it wud be tough year! And it’s turned out to be! Hoping I see 67! My phobia is because my beloved son passed on 12-06-06 way too many 6’s for me! Lol... Having been here alone I think of him very much! I miss him and my hubby! I’ll b fine though cuz I’m tough and need to be ok for my 2 guys oh and the bratty cats too! I have one cat age 22 & she drives me crazy! She bosses the 2 boys and constantly threatens them! Meanwhile she’s one third the size of my 2 boys! Lol.... I get a kick watching them they make me laugh! Thanks so much for your answer I really appreciate it! Be safe and well! Godspeed...

I remember your son... I always do.

Good always triumphs 6.

( hey, I was born in 69, if you turn the 9 upside down it’s a 6! Get your kicks on Route 66!)

I don’t like 66 much either though. My mom died of APS at 66. ( undiagnosed at that time.)

I had a superstition my sisters might do the same- they absolutely did NOT! Lived right on past that number!

Our daughter is in Princeton. I was there In mid March when all this happened-/ blossomed- I came home two weeks ago this Saturday, and was quarantined here, on advice of my Princeton Hematologist. ( I was in and out of hospital having INR drawn.)

Daughter and her finance are in quarantine basically. Her food delivery was postponed so she had to go to Wegmans today... scares me quite a lot.

She’s come down with “ early lupus - all compliments low- and Early or low / mild APS.” ( LA positive... ( ish.) ) plus Livedo. No clotting.

She’s working with Dr Jill Schofield now because she can’t get a Rheumatoligist appointment now.

Yes, I understand it was Maddie Gras.

Our state governor Abbot just declared Texas to close all non essential businesses.

Clarification happening today.

Most of our businesses already had strict social distancing measures in place.

Restrunts we’re curb side only.

I’m desperately trying to retain all employees and not even furlough.

Banking meeting on line galore.

Very busy time.
