Coeliac/hypothyroidism.

In 2013 I had my gall bladder removed after years of burning and not feeling well whilst they viewed my gall bladder the camera technician said she would view further down from the gall bladder,I had mentioned that I find bread pies cakes if fact any foods made with wheat seemed to cause me more trouble. It was found I was indeed a coeliac .from 2013 till 2017 I was fairly well gained weight for the first time. Then tiredness became my problem,I was considered a busy bee always rushing around.it became harder in the past 5 years. 19 years of living in Essex I think I have had a blood test for thyroid about 5 or 6 times by different Drs. all tests said basically normal. I had another test for Thyroid last year about october.came back normal borderline.I saw yet another Dr at my surgery,I asked him if My blood tests are always done in the morning (at a time I feel awake and full of energy) but by lunch time I start a steady decline even if I eat all through the morning.or even having a proper lunch .I asked if I could have blood test done at hospital in the afternoon. He said he wanted to look at the last test, which he did and said that both levels were just under the line on both. and put me on Levothyroxine 50mg .at the same time I have been put on blood pressure tablets.Bisoprolol 2.5mg. I am asthmatic and take Symbicort 100.Ventolin inhaler.Piriton for allergies hay fever and Giant papillary conjunctivitis.soreness of the underside of eyelids. then I went to the dentist in november 2018,she said she did not like the inflammation of one side of my bottom jaw.I said I thought it was thrush from the Asthma pump.I have had this soreness for about a year.I was referred to the colchester oral surgery dept.and they are going to take a biopsy of the gum and jaw bone this week.I asked the consultant if the inflammation could cause me earache. no he said but I will show you what is. heledone finger to the join of my jawbones on the inside of my mouth, and pressed areas around my head and face ears temples. all of which hurt where he pressed.

he told me I had arthritis of the jaws. called Temporomandibular joint dysfunction and myofacial pain .TMJ. this made sense as to the fact that I had just had three weeks of antibiotics for ear infection that made no difference to the pain. the consultant has given me pain relief gel and Naproxen 250 mg. That burn my gut so now I am back on omeprazole 20 mg.I had come off them in 2013,after gall bladder removal. all the last meds are for life, but I am not sure in what order you should take them all .. I start with the thyroxine at 6am with only water.then at 7am Bisoprolol with omeprazole.with tea and breakfast followed by Naproxen.I also take Glucosamine .2000. for my joints. this is what worries me am I taking these in the right order.

So since hitting the 60 I seem to be going downhill.

Hi,

That's quite a list health issues you have going on there. I hope that being on Thyroxine gives you the boost you are looking for.

I'm also a Coeliac. On 2015/16 after a battle with fatigue that sounds similar to yours, I was given the label 'Chronic Fatigue Syndrome' - and then pretty much left to my own devices apart from a rather daft referral to the local Mental Health Team (I have always maintained that my issues are physical rather than mental - so no amount of CBT will fix them!).

Why am I mentioning this? It's because I recently came across a website on the internet which belongs to an ex-NHS doctor by the name of Sarah Myhill. I found she makes a surprising amount of sense about the underlying causes of health issues like ours. She now lives and works in Wales and has specialised in Fatigue issues since leaving the NHS - and has accumulated a decent amount of knowledge about thyroid issues as well. As far as I can tell, her approach and protocols are definitely very different to your average GP's....! (Perhaps better?).

Here a link to her website if you are interested in knowing more (btw, there is absolutely no gain in it for me by posting it here!):

<drmyhill.co.uk/wiki/Categor... (She also has a multitude of videos on YouTube).

Does this all work? Honestly I don't know - I'm still in the early days of figuring that one out myself. However the early signs are promising and as knowledge is power, I thought I would mention her to you in case it was also of use to you in the longer term.

I hope you're feeling better soon.

R.B.

There's a thyroid section on this site, and there are people there I know will have the answer to your question, if you copy this over there!

You're right to take the thyroid medication 1 hour away from other medication. If it helps, you could take it at night time instead, just before bed. That would make things a tad easier for you!

I have considered this trouble is I do graze when I am home. And go to bed early and if you go out might not be taking it at a regular time. I get up at 6am.

I have been looking at dr Sarah Myhill. On utube suggested to me. Interesting have ordered cook book.

Thank you for answering.

Perhaps painkillers at night time? I don't think it matters if they're slightly different times, and it can help prevent drowsiness during the day, so long as you don't need to take them with food.
