That's a shame irisjoy,I think everyone would benefit from these groups if only there was enough of them so people wouldn't have the distance problem,I do hope one gets set up by you soon..xx
I recently founded a group called Andover Fibromyalgia & M.E Chatterbook Group (Est May 2012) before becoming a part of FibroAction. I still run this group with other Admins and I would more then happy to help advise you on how to start a support group.
Please private message me if you would like to have a chat.
That's really kind of you,I would appreciate any advice on how to get started,I want to find out as much as I can before I take the plunge! It's just knowing where to start and how to go about it,I have a review session at the hospital on 19th december where I will have another chat with the others about it,i mentioned it to the physio who runs these 6 week support sessions and she was more then happy to let other people that attend her groups that there is a local group where they can come and chat over coffee,I will get a few things on paper and chat with the others and get their feedback and I will PM for some help on how to get started, thanks for your kind offer of help..best wishes julie
I am blushing slightly but I am very pleased at how successful the group has been in my local area in such a short time.It is bringing people living with Fibromyalgia & M.E together for the benefit the community. I have a wonderful team of Admins more recently and with the Teamwork we have achieved a great deal.
I am obviously very pleased with its progress , if that's allowed
