This is the 3rd time of trying to post this it keeps saying refresh when I do my message has gone 🤷‍♀️😡I was actually in a flare up when I saw the doctor been in it for over a week. Omg my head absolutely pounding and sensitive to touch I've had this years but didn't know it was fibromyalgia or a flare up !! I told the doctor I was in a flare up !! Told him I also had a new symptom like something moving about on top of my head . I'd also had a fall in the morning and going dizzy he took my blood pressure my blood pressure is up so have to do my blood pressure for a week .

We also discussed my anxiety and depression and medication but I won't take it .. meditation and breathing techniques. Gratitude. And being outside and finding 5 positive things a day .He also said to try and get hold of a book by Howard Schnbinar ...Unlearn your pain !! you can only get the book on kindle but I've managed to also find him on you tube .

Also he was saying to me that flare ups are usually caused by stress .. I had a flare up November to February I was stressed at work ..but I don't no what caused this last flare up 10 days it lasted I've woke up today and can touch my head without pain ... what causes your flare ups ?

Hello Tommygurl, from my own experience it's not only stress which creates flare-ups. My pattern is doing to much around the house or garden 🤔 when my energy levels feel good I push pass the level my body wants to go. There have been many times where I manged to do a whole day of jobs 🙃 and the next day or two I have to rest. While these doing jobs my symptoms will show like feeling hot or cold. Legs hurt back hurts and so on however because the energy levels are good I push too much. Because its nice to be normal and have the capabilities I use to have.

Over the years my symptoms have been a mixed-up bags of events which I live with and don't always listen to the warnings signs from my body which is telling me to stop. It might help to write down the jobs you are doing and the symptoms that day when checking back it should show you where you may have push to hard.

There are many symptoms our bodies tell us however we don't get the messages of stopping or resting up. The only way I support my flare-ups is rest and Stretching exercises and keep moving in smaller steps. To relax I listen to music or listening books to take my mindset away from how I am feeling.

Take a look at your lifestyle and by making small changes will show you how to self help yourself.

Ask your GP to put you forward for living with long term illness and pain.

These are very good groups which give you advise on how to handle some of your lifestyle choices and much more .

Speak to your GP about the pain clinic they too are a great team who gave me my courage back to self-help my lifestyle changes and awareness of myself and others.

Healthy Minds are also fantastic these guys give you a great mindset in dealing with your illness and others living with your illness. It helps to listen to others who understand your world . Every member on this site has been through body changes ,lifestyle changes, mindset, lose of Confidence, and so much more things.

Talk to your GP they can help unfortunately they don't offer these services unless you ask.

Good luck 👍 💓 and keep in touch x big hugs 🫂

I can relate to what you’re saying, as a consultant I saw many moons ago for M.E, (my days before fibro🥴) told me if I felt I could do something, then only do 75% and bank the other 25% before my body went ‘into the red’!

He was correct, but it depends on what it is that needs doing I suppose and with M.E it worked, but fibro is the devil and not as manageable for me personally. Others may be different.

I have my first full pain management app this week and at my initial app they were so understanding and lovely, hoping even for a little bit of relief, which will be a bonus at the moment🙈

What is the Healthy Minds you mention please?

Best wishes😊

Yes it’s sent a few times, thank-you for that.

It sounds like the ‘talking therapy’ we have where I am, I tried it but felt I already knew what I was being told, but it did help to get acknowledgment of how I was feeling, so it certainly has its place. The therapist was brilliant in their manner.

Sometimes people get flares threw stress for sure, for me a flare can just start and I’m never sure why, maybe after getting a bug and my body struggles too pick up 🤔, very good you are finding techniques too help with anxiety @depression ,a lot people with Fibro can suffer with this. When I get headaches I keep head gel packs in the fridge so I can alternate them and put on my forehead, I use a headache balm (herb s on the hill)can buy online , glad they are keeping check on your BP , I also read you can get headaches if your BP is high. xx

My blood pressure is always up when I go to the doctors it seems fine now 🤷‍♀️
