Hi sorry am a bit behind on posting, I am in UK also, was diagnosed with fibro in 2008, although it took about 13years of rheumatology visits and tests for that to happen, I had a severe infection in my left leg and was told I had rheumatoid arthritis after that I was put on methotrexate and cyclosporin which I took for about 2years, my doctor was not happy to keep issuing my prescriptions for these drugs so referred me back, I had to ween off them. My blood levels were back to normal, maybe I was put on them too soon after the infection.I have been given lots of different pain killers over the years, none seem to work for fibro, and the side effects can be rorrendous, I am currently on Gabapentin, but not related to fibro I gave a trapped nerve in my lower back and have been on them since being taken to hospital in an ambulance. I have tried to reduce dose but sciatic pain is horrendous so I'm stuck with them.
As others have said pace yourself, and don't use all your spoons all at once, join a fibro support group, I'm a member of fibro Leeds, we have a weekly zoom, and the odd meet ups, we chat about rubbish a lot of the time, but the best thing is you know you're not alone in your struggle.
