Overwhelming Pain (I am new)

First, my screen name, say it like this `eye see you a lot`!

I have had kyphoscoliosis, which causes overwhelming pain in my lower back. Recently I had Radio Frequency denervation, it did not work.

I have also suffered for a long time with pain in joints, muscle weakness, and spasms, headaches, upset stomach, numbness in hands/feet, random pains that seem to come and go, insomnia, fatigue. The list goes on.

I have spoken to my GP several times, and I am still unable to get a Fibro diagnosis. He is absolutely adamant that my `little niggles` are a result of my kyphoscoliosis. I have tried to convince him that I am in serious pain. I can't stand or walk for more than 2 minutes. I am on some pretty hefty doses of pregabalin and codeine, but he says this is for my kyphoscoliosis, as I don't have fibro.

Any tips on how I can convince him.

I have been on sick leave for two years and am about to be made medically unfit by my employer.

I need the diagnosis so I could possibly get disability payment.

Hi and a warm welcome to our community. Here you will find information support friendship and laughter too. You can find general information on fibromyalgia at our main website fmauk.org

Unfortunately I have no idea if your other symptoms could be related as your Dr suggests, as not familiar with the condition.

I don't think there is any way of convincing your gp - all I can suggest is that you all for a referral to a pain clinic for pain management support

Alternatively, you may need to consider changing doctors if you really feel you are getting nowhere

Hi Icu a lot, I have much the same symptoms as yourself. 4 Years now. Started with extremly painful thigh and lower back. Was not taken seriously so consequently it has spread over variose parts of my body. My skin has also suffered. Have u tried Gabapentine. I've been on it for three weeks now, its reduced some of my symptoms, including being able to sit down for longer periods. Its a cruel condition for anyone to have to suffer with. Bless you.
