ive had fibromyalgia for 2 years now. since it started, every few weeks i wake up with a severe headache which causes vomiting, i cannot stand any noise or light. I have noticed that prior to this i dont open my bowels for around 5-6 weeks. my abdomen becomes bloated and i go up 2 dress sizes. so with the headache and vomiting i have what i can only describe as a colonic explosion. im just getting over one migranous headache which lasted around 2 days. i have lost 5 lbs in body weight, i feel weak and unable to think straight. does anyone else have this? if so could anyone put my mind at ease or explain why this happens and/or what i can do to avoid it? im desperate for help, this is ruining my life. jules

Try to change your diet first. Eat as many fruits and veggies as you can. Increase your fiber intake. You need to be going every other day. There some stuff you can drink to make you go "I THINK it's magnesium sulfate " please look into that because I am not sure. Try doing a few stretches because that will also get your bowels moving. Sometimes I have to take a laxative or something like gas x . To get it out! For me coffee works. Weird but grapefruit does to. It's very important that you get your bowels moving. I can't tell you the number of times I've been to ER for that. I've been hospitalized for 2weeks. So I know the PAIN!!! I truly hope you find RELIEF!!😁😖😥

Do be careful with grapefruit, it interacts adversely with some meds xx

Jules - I have severe constipation and the only thing I've found that helps it is lactulose on prescription. It's been such a relief (literally!) to be able to go again. Might it be an idea to ask your doctor for this?

I don't get vomiting though. I do have constant headaches and occasional migraine, but I haven't connected that to my constipation.

Hope you can sort this out - it sounds horrible.

Any unintentional weight loss should be investigated, hope you feel better soon xx

I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve. I also have terrible migraines with the same symptoms as yours, and I also get stomach issues but of a slightly different nature as I have a lot of food allergies.

I changed quite a few things in my diet including cutting out lactose and this helped a little. (As lou says please be careful with Grapefruit). It would be beneficial to discuss this with your GP / Medical Professional as sudden weight loss of this nature really needs to be explored to rule out other medical conditions.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I have suffered migraine for 27 years amd i totally understand where your coming from . I lose my eyesight with migraine for 45 mins at a time . To lay in a dark room is a very good help . The painkillers your taking to battle migraine can give u constipation .

Hi Jules I would just like to add that you must be careful taking on board lots of fruit or veg. Constipation can be caused by fruit and veg because it all depends on how well your body is in processing them. I had ibsc for many years before they decided it was IBS. I just kept getting told eat more fruit and veg. Unfortunately for me it had the reverse effect and I lived for many years with ibsd. Baby steps but definitely get the weight loss checked out first and good luck x
