I have yet failed a FET. I have slightly polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome and I'm overweight. My Dr has suggested I could go on it for my next FET. Does anyone know when this would start? I don't need to do another retrieval just yet only FETs... How long do you stay on metformin?

Metformin. When do you start this before a FET?
I’ve been on metformin for 12 weeks now; not because I don’t ovulate or have irregular periods because apparently they help with implantation. I’ve got my 2nd FET tomorrow and I’ve thrown everything at this cycle. Had the endometrial scratch, embryo glue, Metformin, baby aspirin, vitamins 😂😂 it’s insane! Like you I am PCO but not the syndrome. Xx
I’ve been put on it for 6 months, my consultant says it is pregnancy friendly and can help to sustain a pregnancy through the early stages too. You have to build up from one dose until you get to the 3 or 4 your consultant suggests, this takes a month or so to do. The Side effects can be grotty but aren’t expected to last too long, and we all know it’ll be worth it if the baby dust works! I’ve lost a stone and a half in a fortnight, (mainly as I’ve been one of the unlucky ones with a dodgy stomach) but my doctor is happy for me to continue.
Hope that helps!
