I was diagnosed with mild/moderate fatty liver years ago (5?) I was wondering if I should just watch my diet or go for a fibroscan? What is involved in a fibroscan and are there side effects? Is it covered by Medicare? Kindly respond.. Thanks,

Fibroscan is really simple and quick. Non invasive. They just touch a little thing to the side of your ribs and it pulses a few times and that’s it.

It is non-invasive, a type of specialized ultrasound, it measures fat content and liver stiffness and if you are concerned about your liver it is quick and easy and tells you quicly whether you need more extensive testing. Medicare covers depending on diagnosis.
