I’ve been diagnosed since last February & I’m thinking about changing my diet habits to ease pain. Has anyone cut of dairy products and found that it has a positive impact on your endo? Curious on any Lifestyle changes that have helped anyone also

Has anyone found it beneficial cutting out dairy products, to ease endometriosis pains?
Hi Aliv,I was having bloating and a sore digestive system & bowel movements that really hurt (along with the endo).
The bloating is reduced now, and bowel movements also starting to hurt less.
Here's what I'm trying, that seems to be helping - it's something from each category to help reduce discomfort:
1. Hormonal treatment to reduce periods - Mirena & Cerazette
2. Pain management pack: amitryptaline, ibuprofen & omeprazole
3. Diet changes: stopped drinking milk - switched to oat milk. Stopped eating resistant starches (e.g. Part-baked bread, reheated pasta or potatoes). Stopped drinking instant coffee.
4. Supplements to sooth the digestive system: probiotics, peppermint capsules with enteric coating
5. Supplements to reduce inflammation: ginger root, turmeric & black pepper
6. Vitamin set - multi vitamin, omegas, vitamin D and calcium
It's a month and a couple of weeks since I was in A&E for endo pain, and the pain has dropped from a high 10/10 to a low 3/10 now. I think I can do even better over the next month's, trying to shrink it more. I think I needed more than diet changes to reduce the pain.
Hope that helps a bit.
Hi 👋
I found cutting out full fat and semi skimmed milk helped and caffeine was really bad, so coke/Pepsi, tea/coffee I went decaf.
The pill helped me as I was on it for 12 yrs and didn’t know I had endo it was only bcz we were TTC that I became diagnosed.
Some ppl say exercise really helps I personally didn’t find this that much but that was just me.
Good luck xxx
I am trying to cut out trans fats and eat more omega 3, leafy greens and am taking curcumin and black pepper capsules. Also chamomile tea for the chrysin but omg it’s disgusting! I figured the least it will do will make me healthier anyway. However when I asked the endometriosis specialist I have been referred to about diet changes and endo, he was dismissive of it
Chamomile tea can taste better with some honey. It's relaxing before bed, I find.
I’ve cut out most dairy and I’m now trying to cut out gluten. Everyone is different, but I think it’s worth trying.
Hi I did a big cut out of eggs, dairy, gluten, meat and alcohol for 6 months and I felt better. I also started taking probiotics in tablet form. But tbh I missed some foods so I’ve reintroduced most foods back into my diet in smaller quantities I’ve felt fine still. I now mainly eat “plant based” with the occasional bit of dairy in my tea or coffee etc.I’ve read some great books that really helped me understand what food trigger my pain and how I can manage my symptoms with supplements (like NAC, magnesium, zinc etc)
Can I recommend “period power” by Maisie hill. And “fix your period” by Nicole Jardim. I know endo is a full body disease and symptoms happen all month long, but both books help you look after your full monthly cycle.
I hope you find what works for you xx
Gluten free has helped me a lot. It cuts the bloating, constipation etc. I find it hard to cut out gluten completely but even small switches (e.g. GF pasta) makes a difference!
