Low progesterone? Fighting for HCG/prog tests

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant after my first DE transfer in a natural cycle after TTC for nearly 7 years, had brown spotting yesterday which has since escalated & is much heavier today, just know this is going to end badly... My Manchester clinic won't offer me any tests until a scan at 7 weeks - is this normal? - I've seen lots of lovely ladies on here getting regular BHCG/Progesterone blood tests, which often highlight low progesterone - do you have to push for these? I'm a severe endometriosis sufferer making me very susceptible to low progesterone yet it seems the only way to get any blood tests is if you have a history of miscarriage/other problems. I've fought so hard for 15 yrs+ to get the right help for my endo and can't believe I'm having to do it all again now by having to prove to clinics I feel I need extra blood tests to set my mind at rest. I've read too many posts of ladies hearing their progesterone is too low but they've been able to start supplements and the spotting has stopped, I hate knowing there is something I could be doing to try & help myself. Would love to hear other people's experiences and any advice would be really welcome. Thanks everyone x

Hi Sez, are you on NHS or private? I don't know much about NHS as I had to self fund but I know if you went to a private clinic you could definitely pay for the test. But if not voice your concerns to your gp who might refer you on as they need to keep an eye on spotting.

I hope it calms down and it's just a minor blip ❤️

Hi love, thanks very much for your quick reply. I'm a Brit but have literally just moved back here after living in Australia so have not even registered with a GP yet. I'm at Manchester Fertility who only really have a limited background to all my endo/thyroid issues and are just running me on a natural cycle for the first transfer, I just felt I should have got more monitoring but wasn't sure what was normal in this country. I had to do a urine pregnancy test and then nothing happens until the first scan at 7 wks, I asked if they did blood tests & they said not unless there have been past issues. I've had to pay for all my treatment in Oz as there is no free NHS there, so it's good to know I could self refer here, thanks for the advice and appreciate your time answering xx

That's ok. I would definitely register with gp asap because you can always see them. Ring your clinic and ask to pay for test then. I paid for 2 hcg blood tests because I've had a past ectopic and the clinic was fine to do it. I had to pay £100 but it put my mind at rest. So anything that eases your worry is good to do. Hope it all goes well x
