I was diagnosed with CKD 3b and put on a renal diet given to me by my Doctor. It has been modified by Doctor as needed. I was originally sodium and phosphorus restricted but since have added potassium. The diet has slowed down the progression. Ask your Doctor about an appropriate renal diet for you.

Diet can definitely help. I was diagnosed at egfr of 34, raised it to 54, and at last test, it was 61.

Your results are encouraging.

I am 72 year male and have never done blood tests till Dec.19.

I have been going to gym since 25 years. All my results were normal except creatinine which is at 1.85.Actually it has been fluctuating between 2.09 to 1.75 from Dec till May.

I have started vegetarian diet with low sodium and low electrolytes although my electrolytes are in normal range, but still to reduce load on kidneys.

I have no other problems like diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid etc.Protein is not passing through urine.Any suggestions

Hi Janicel and thank you for your post. Diet fluids and exercise have a role in protecting your kidneys from further damage, so most people with kidney problems will benefit from a healthy diet. As Orangecity41 has mentioned, it would be a good idea to ask your doctor about an appropriate renal diet for you. You could also ask your doctor to refer you to a renal dietician.

Thank you and best wishes.
