His diet is starch based as the majority of the world s population is and relatively healthy I might add. A lot of people have no fridges.

He also reminds me of our family doctor of over 40 years, delivered both of our daughters and treated some of our grandkids. The old senior country doctors were the best, trust worthy. What he and Dr McDougall have been saying all along is truth and facts that have time tested.
I should have realized that dairy and meat are really bad since I have extensive experience in the hamburger business and was also a steak and lobster night cook at one of the best steak restaurants. I've been to the slaughter house. In retrospect a sad seen. I've stupidly chosen to keep the blinders on to me and my family's serious health detriment.

Yes he sells supplements and has a medical wellness business. But his truth is free, open and valid if we choose to read and listen against all the other information which I gobbled up hook, line and sinker. I was a sucker.

I have no argument with your comments about meat and milk. However, regarding Dr Greger, he wrongly recommended raising uric acid levels for Parkinson's, and in spite of the well-documented ensuing disaster refused to take down his recommendation. Ya, makes sense to me. Uric acid, his handling of it reminds me exactly of the Jesus Christ person who has no real interest in science. Reminds me of the guy who died and went to heaven and St Peter introduced him to the various characters as they went by, all the big ones you'd know to expect. And they happen to see an unadorned old man with a long beard running around with a white coat and the stethoscope, and the guy inquired "well who is that?"

No. There are no two ways about this - if you want to discuss this matter further you're going to have to read and understand the post I linked to above.
I watch a lot of Greger videos and look up the material. My anecdotal experience is that being largely whole food plant based is good for health. My father has PD, is mostly a vegetarian, but likes dairy despite being lactose intolerant. Dairy is very difficult to give up for him.
Tempt your father with nice alternatives, and suggest he tries it for a month. If he doesn’t feel the benefit after a month, tell him you’ll never mention it again!. If he’s intolerant, like me, he should feel better dairy free. I was addicted to cheese when I was younger. I’ve been dairy free for 40 years now and would never go back.

I should think that a starch based diet is the worst for anyone let alone one suffering from a nerve problem as starch is just a long chain of sugar molecules.
You might think so but for me cutting out dairy, eggs, meat, sugar, processed food, going low protein and low gluten were the difference between being unable to hold a cup to my lips and going back to work and feeling better than I had for years. Many foods (including some odd stuff like cooked tomatoes) really buggers my PD and or my meds. I don't eat big portions either - that is really important for me too - and that perhaps goes a little way to answering your starch point. If I ever cheat on any of that - and I often do because I am a male 😀 - it's like a kick in the gonads (and not in a good way). 😬😁
Agh, I find the same thing as you— eating large meals and protein interferes with my mobility and changes my gait and can affect my speaking, etc.. but the difference with me is that I find eggs are good for me except they have protein in them so I have to be mindful of when I take my Sinemet…is that why eggs are not on your list of things you eat?
It makes an incredible difference (for those of us it affects) doesn't it. Eggs were part of the 'cut out dairy and eggs' advice I read and followed and I have not tried them since. You know the physical pain of eating a disagreeable food - I will try eggs one day, but not for a while.
I agree that the right plant based diet can be good for PD. No meat, no cheese , no eggs, no dairy, no oil of any kind,lots of organic fruit and veggies, one serving of organic grain per day, 4 servings of leafy greens per day, one serving of blue berries per day. Get proteins from beans daily. Get fat from olives, avocados, chia.

So true, but Leukemia and the other issues with meat and dairy are pretty serious stuff that is or is not - no opinion is valid or contrary study can supercede the truth of the matter.
And if true especially to the extent that it is then some action must be taken. No if ands or buts. Reminds of the saying: If, if ands and buts were candies and nuts we'd all be in seventh heaven.
For me at my age 77 doesn't really matter so much. I'm almost done and the pace is accelerating but for my daughters and grandkids I wish they would listen to the truth and save themselves years of misery and pain. They're not listening by the way but I'll keep trying.

You may be right in your case, for your case specifically, but for others you may be wrong. Individual chemistry is unique and there are always exceptions. For example in my own case, proteins have helped me with many problems. So you see it's not just a matter of one thing for everybody. And you know what: leukemia is not a big thing for me because I don't have it. But I have other things that make them very big for me. So just remember, all or none thinking, or my stuff is worse than yours, that is not the path to wisdom. And then what else, this is not a message for you. It's a message for all the other readers. You have already made clear what your blinkers are and whether they have any adjustability. Success and value is not a zero-sum game, nor is it relative. Again, that is not a message for you because you need to be right and so you will not tolerate anything that does not make you right so the message is for others. The only way someone will reach you is if they manage to convince you that whatever they are suggesting is actually your own idea. And if that happens, you won't even realize it, which is really kind of a humorous don't you think.
Well my guess is I won't understand it because you say I won't. Which is actually one of my points. No skin off your nose if your advice hurts somebody, and that is my point. You can't hurt the blithe spirit that is already dead, and they tend to be casual because they don't risk much of themselves... So their actual help is rather more a coincidence. Those of us on the less blithe plane can do better for each other I think, without it being a coincidence. Meanwhile I am hurt to the quick and will suffer greatly because you don't agree. No, no, I told that you wouldn't understand. The ability I meant is to let others have their point of view without necessarily having to agree or disagree, getting the freedom to take different points of view at will and watch.
