Just watched you tube related to "smart shoes" that use AI to develop a shoe to decrease freezing of gait. Uses the Neuro-modulation method of vibrotactile applications. NUSHUX magnesium. On the You Tube SmartXPDSeems like a logical approach
Anyone know about this

To perform gait analysis, a pair of motion sensing shoes called Nushu is developed in this study for data acquisition. This method serves the aim of the development of a shoe-integrated gait monitoring and analysis platform referring to introduction aim (1). The system comprises a customized sensor unit inserted in the posterior portion of the outsoles of the shoes (usually thicker and less prone to bending), as shown in Figure 1A. The sensor unit is fixed in place with silicon glue, and the upper component of the shoe is glued on top with a heat-activated contact cement normally used in the shoe-manufacturing industry. This allows for a tight seal and consequently the possibility of prolonged indoor and outdoor testing.
I don't think this will let me post the link to the actual shoes but they cost $1295.00

Vibration appears to assist with stiff muscles, propioception , gets 'body fluids like "lymph" moving for circulation, stimulates nerves in feet to fire...almost the "affects' of a "vibration" board.
I think that is a good description cjcardio53. My husband couldn't explain how it felt but for him, as I said on another post yesterday - they didn't work for him because he doesn't have a gait issue per se - he has falls issues. We reckon the shoes could possibly work for people with lopsided or short gait issues or no cadence as you can get onto a program like a metronome is one of the 10 programs I think it is, so you step in time with the shoe vibration. Pretty darn cool. The people there are fabulous.
They help people with gait issues walk better. Their words at Magnes to us was "The shoes do not prevent falls. They help patients walk better therefore hopefully by walking better, they shouldn't fall. However they don't prevent it, the vibration stimulates the patient by initiating/triggering their step. I would suggest swing vibration, and see if that has a much bigger effect".
We tried the Swing as well - but if anything it was worse for him. So.... interesting company and people. Definitely innovative considering they are a software company and well respected in the U.S. and in Spain.
I have seen a few Zoom meets from the Arizona PD folks. But can't remember the groups name. However the shoe people will be doing a demonstration in Phoenix. Would be great if they could do a live evaluation of this product....
I checked Nushu X out, 1200.00 is a little steep for me. I found something "less fancy VIBRATHOTICS, 100.00. They are "vibrating" insoles for shoes. 3 speeds, charge via USB port.
I’ve watched the YouTube video and from what I understood of these they work in the same way as a “cueing” device (Cue1) perhaps?
My husband has the Cue 1 which gives some success but the shoes seem a logical step (excuse the pun!) forward from that. However the price is quite steep
The good thing is that you get a near full refund if they don't work. 20%. Also you buy the X package you can get a free pair sent to you after 2 years I think it is to replace the ones you have if they are worn out I assume. One thing we didn't realise is you HAVE to have Apple IPAD or IPHONE...... otherwise it will not work.
I've been wondering about whether shoes were tried yet considering the gloves seem to help so much. Good to know. I'm sure this will be the next diy gadget. Not sure why entire shoes versus just an insole. Do they vibrate on the sides and tops of feet too?
No - it's an unusual sensation - because feet are so sensitive - to my husband it was a sensation of being drawn towards thinking about the whole foot as one - not just the bottom side or top.
