Has anyone tried Metformin for PD? I am trying it , but having difficulty with nausea and weight loss. I will stick with it if someone can tell me it is beneficial, but if not , I would rather stop it?

Metformin inhibits complex I of the electron transport chain of the mitochondria, i.e. it is a mild mitochondria poison. PD patients have impaired complex I and mitochondria. I think to be prudent, PD patients should avoid metformin.
according to this article, metformin is good for PD.

Yes, I just looked at the article, and it seems to support the use of Metformin (see quote below) I suppose it could be an issue about length of usage. It sure makes things confusing though!

Administration of metformin (3 weeks) led to improved motor activity, reduced oxidative stress and decreased neurodegeneration in a MPTP/probenecid mouse model of PD (31), potentially mediated through BDNF. Administration of metformin (5 weeks) led to decreased cell loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, increased dopamine levels, improved motor performance in a MPTP/probenecid mouse model of PD (32).
