AUTOPHAGY helps defeat BRAIN disease, says Dr Nadir Ali, M.D.

TODAY is day #391 of my O.M.A.D. (one meal a day with all calories eaten within a 2 hour window). Not a single cheat, ever. Not even a carrot stick. I've lost about 60 pounds and STILL eat meat, potatoes, lots of fruit, dairy, etc. But only HEALTHY food and almost always less than 1,500 calories for my one meal.

O.M.A.D. is well-known to induce.... AUTOPHAGY.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

At about the 9 minute mark Dr Ali starts talking about how autophagy helps defeat Alzheimer, Parkinson, and other brain diseases.

From what I've gleaned.... his #1 remedy for brain disorders is autophagy and EAT FATS (keto).

I am NOT on keto. I eat a TON of carbs.

This is his website:

What should I do to follow your regime OMAD?

i can only tell you what 'i' do... i've watched 100s and 100s of health videos on YouTube and would never begin to suggest that I am 'knowledgable.' I know 'enough' to know that I don't know very much -- that's why I continue to educate myself. I suggest you go to YouTube and search for: "one meal a day diet" to see if that type of diet will work for you.... best of luck!

How's it working out for you? Congrats on making it that far!

i'm doing GREAT! remember i'm not officially dx'd with PD. My worthless neuro/MDS said this at our first (and only!) appointment: "The good news is that you don't have Parkinson. The bad news is that you don't have Parkinson." ... I skipped the blood work and DatScan he wanted me to do ... and I'm glad I did because I think he's a bozo.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know 'what' I have (June 20, 2021 my left thumb tremored several times). I have (in the low thousands) of very very mild internal tremors -- rarely noticeable daytime. Left face numbing, very infrequently and very mild. Various eye and eyelid issues ('sensation something is in my eye' ... eyelid tremors). (very rarely now) Foot and lower leg cramping. (I'm beating this now) Constipation. Overall, I'm 99.999% perfect.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I'm taking almost 40 supplements daily. But I haven't exercised in about 7 months due to the stress of trying to restore my business after covid (i never caught it but it shut down my business). I have various therapeutic devices I use daily (vibration plate machine ... situp bench (I use both that helps to beat my constipation) ... 2 large massagers in bed that are on all night ...

----------------------------------------------------------------

But I believe (without evidence) that my O.M.A.D. diet has been #1 in helping to keep my various PD-like symptoms .... in CHECK.

Conservatively, I've skipped over 2,000 meals/snacks in 392 days.

And let me tell ya... it's been SO EASY doing this diet.

I have no cravings. No emotional or physical discomforts. Long ago my stomach must have "shrunk" because after my one, generous O.M.A.D. (1300 to 1700 calories) ... I'm just not hungry until late the following day.

One trick I use is I trick 1 - 3 cups of (stevia sweetened green tea to keep my stomach full ... before O.M.A.D. -- works great!

And after I eat I have (stevia sweetened) 1 - 3 coffees.

I've lost almost 60 pounds! (but it seems like I've been STUCK on that for at least 4 months). I can't seem to lose anymore.

When I resume exercise soon, I hope more weight will be lost (I want to lose another 30 pounds to get back to my weight in my early 30s).

----------------------------------------------------

Best of luck to you!

Can one sustain their weight on OMAD? I stand 5’ tall and weigh 162#. I could not stand to lose weight, especially 60#.can autophagy occur without the dramatic caloric reduction?

PDWarrior1900 profile image
PDWarrior1900

I'm not sure if I understand your question about "sustaining weight on OMAD." ... I'm 5' 6" ... I started at 216 pounds on March 24, 2022. The last time I weighed myself I was 162. I can tell from the 'mirror' and my 'clothes' that I'm not losing anymore weight -- DESPITE O.M.A.D. diet. I want to lose another 30 pounds but I'm .... stuck.

When I resume intensive exercise soon, I hope combining the low cals, O.M.A.D. and exercise will slice the other 30 pounds off me

--------------------------------------------------------

As for your question.. "Can autophagy occur without dramatic caloric reduction."

I don't think so.

Autophagy is 'induced' by fasting (and vigorous exercise).

Best of luck to you!

AHT is autohemotherapy, an old method of treating disease. Blood is taken from a vein and immediately injected into a muscle. The body treats that blood as a foreign invader and mobilizes monocytes out of the bone marrow. The monocytes morph into macrophages. These circulate in the blood seeking out foreign tissues to attack and destroy.

I'm doing that now. Months ago I could feel dozens of pimples on my scalp. I've been drawing 10cc of blood and injecting it back into the body in two 5cc doses, one in each thigh muscle. I do this roughly every 5-7 days apart. As of now the pimples are almost gone. That is, feeling for them with my fingertips on my scalp I can only find one small, sensitive lump.

The body keeps 1-2% of monocytes floating in the bloodstream. After AHT the monocyte count goes to 22% for 7 days.

The point of the article is to stimulate autophagy with a low-carb OMAD diet. Dr Moura in Brazil was a long-time proponent of AHT. Somewhere on You Tube there is a two-hour talk detailing is life and medical practice. In the talk he recounts treating--and curing-- a teenage girl with severe acne. He also mentioned treating a colleague's DVT. I had a DVT which went away with my self-treatment using AHT.

Because I have PD I'm hoping AHT will clear out any alfa-synuclein build-up. I was a practicing veterinarian for 35 years. For the last ten years I'd added AHT to my practice, treating anything from allergy to MRSA. If not for PD I might still be practicing.

how can a non medical person do this aht themselves, or do you have to get a doctor to agree to do it?

This video explain most everything. I'll add that when inserting the needle you'll feel resistance. Once the vein is punctured the resistance stops. At that point it's best to slide the needle deeper into the vein. Less chance for a blood clot if you do that. Last point, the butterfly tube coils and will pull the needle out if you're not watching. It helps to stretch the tube first. That stops the coiling action.

PDWarrior1900 what you are doing and your posts have confirmed what I suspected but cant get validation for and I have not been able to find a good doctor for PD that /isn't brainwashed by outdated ideas. My PD symptoms didn’t appear until after i got covid lyme cytokeine storm, inactivity due to lockdown which caused constipation. I started by taking probiotics and different herbs for constipation, lots of water, vitamin C and magnesium, adding exercise. Now doing Intermittent fasting, trying for 4 hour window. I no longer need to take probiotics, but I do eat salt fermented vegetables daily and some whole milk A2/A2 yogurt. Because bowels are now moving without herbal help, Ive boosted all supplements that have been reported, when deficient, to produce tremors. Because prolonged constipation causes nutritional deficiency, I am taking now Bulk Supplements brand single ingredient B’s and glutathione. Treating Lyme with Rife. Thanks for reinforcement! I know I’m on the right track!

thank you for the good post... i'm still "wrestling" with constipation ... very intermittent ... here's what I do that works fantastic and requires NO over-the-counter meds ...

-----------------------

i bought a similar vibration plate machine over 10 years ago (I'm not sure if the one in the photo has '2' motors ... you need to check that).

amazon.com/Lifepro-vibratio...

----------------------

1. i bought this situp board from Amazon for about $100.00 ... KEY FEATURE: it has an adjustable back to i do a 3/4 situp only .... I do multiple sets of 20 situps daily ... up to 120 total situps stretched out over the day ... That 'physical STOMACH CRUNCH' definitely helps the bowels get going!

amazon.com/gp/product/B0BG3...

2. then i immediately step onto my vibration plate ... but here's the TRICK i learned!

Instead of doing the 'normal thing' and straddling the plate with one foot on each side...

Do this! Stand with BOTH FEET on the SAME SIDE of the plate and parallel to the controls (so you are not standing in 'front' of the controls... but to the SIDE of the controls) ....

Now if this Amazon vibration plate (or find another one) has 2 motors (each motor moves the plate a different way/ different sensation...) ... TURN OFF one of the motors (my vibration plate has NO name on it, sorry) ... and set the speed at the lowest setting (mine goes from 1 to 60 speed) ...

Now... you are BOUNCING (gently) up and down ... up and down... up and down... up and down...

and WOWWWWWWWWW! Sometimes within a few seconds... sometimes within a few minutes.... i'm OFF to the white throne! LOL!

Best of luck!
