24 hour FLASHPOLL #2: How would you MAINL... - Cure Parkinson's
24 hour FLASHPOLL #2: How would you MAINLY define the experience of going "OFF" for you?
Please select one:
Id add emotionally labile to the mix of off symptoms
I experience more than one symptom, although balance problems and a reduction in ability to move are the most prevalent symptoms.
Although I experience most of the symptoms the one which stops me functioning is PAIN. It impairs my judgement, makes me talk gibberish, affects walking & motor skills & makes my tremor very pronounced.
a combination of about 4 in the list, if there had been a choice of all or some of the above, that would have described me.
For me there is a degree of fear. Fear of falling or fear of getting stuck n a place where it is not good to get stuck like the middle of the road.
I agree with honeycombe3,summed it up well!
I think everyone experiences a combination of problems that can vary; sometimes depending on the time of day. I experience stiffness; some freezing: causing the "stutter step:" and sometimes pain. About 10:30 AM, it is mostly pain with some stiffness. Around 2:30 PM, an equal amount of stiffness and pain. Around 6:30 PM, stiffness, pain, and dyskinesias. Sure wish all PD researchers and research money could be consolidated in one place so a cure might be found A.S.A.P.
For me "off" means dystonia of the calf muscles and greatly reduced ability to move.
I voted for "confused or slow thinking," but it's really more than one; balance and speech are likewise affected.
I become exhausted. A total body exhaustion after about 2 hours in the early day. Speech and slowed movement also.
Fatigue, internal tremors, confusion, joint pain, tic in left eye, very slow movement, bang into stuff like walls, doorways, then take more meds quickly
but also feeling low, increased pain, inability to urinate
