getting over fears of scans

I have a lot of scan and test anxiety. My last liver ultrasound was done in 2021 was unremarkable flash forward to now I’m about ten lbs heavier. I’ve done all my blood work my enzymes remain about 10-20 points elevated for both ALT and AST. Right now I’m scared to the point of just canceling the scan. I can’t even breathe sometimes that’s how bad the anxiety over the results of the scan is for me. My diet isn’t the greatest. I don’t drink much but still have some here and there, I do exercise a lot but my weight and cholesterol aren’t the best 150lbs, 5’6.

Deep breaths, it’s easy to start catastrophising when we’ve got tests coming up , but it’s more often OK than not. It’s normal to worry about tests and their results, you’re not alone. You’ve done it before and it was fine, you can do it this time. I find meditation helps, it helps me identify those scary thoughts and push them away. You might find some counselling would help you deal with these feelings and give you techniques for dealing with it. You’re doing the right thing, talking about it
