Hi greensforliver, welcome to the forum. Whilst your ultrasound and fibroscan both show some evidence to corroborate the diagnosis of cirrhosis what is very positive is that you are symptom free and therefore likely in the compensated stage of cirrhosis - i.e. your liver is still managing to carry out the majority of it's 500 different jobs. Problems arise when you slip into the decompensated stage where the liver is struggling to even fullfil it's most important of functions.
Whilst I know you are trying not to Google it would be an idea for you to learn a little bit about the condition before you attend your consultation so that you can make the most of your appointment by being able to ask pertinent questions. I found the BLT page on cirrhosis an brilliant resource when my hubby was first diagnosed back in April 2012. It let me understand the condition and I was able to make sure hubby was getting the correct level of care and we were able to ask the questions needed.
Get yourself a note pad purely for your appointments and before each one jot down any/all medications you are on including dosages, any symptoms you have been experiencing or what has been causing you any concern and then a list of all the questions you want to ask - take a pen to jot down answers and if you have someone who can attend with you then two pairs of ears are better than one.
The BLT also has a page all about the Patient Charter on what care you should receive plus a good page on Questions to Ask your doctor - all of which will be useful.
