Got a follow up with GI doc. Liver enzymes have been normal for months…Fibroscan was normal and they assured me there was no scarring. But my cap score did indicate my liver was a little fatty. I’m a lean guy and this happened from binge drinking and eating a bunch of crap. I have been sober but notice a lot of pain discomfort if I eat big meals. Stinks because I’m a runner and I’m so hungry all the time but if I eat the wrong thing I’m in pain all over again. Was wondering if anyone has experience with this food related pain and if it’s possible I had NAFLD that was then worsened by the booze. Just confused because my liver was only mildly fatty and enzymes were completely normal but the pain is wearing me down because I feel like I can never eat enough. Idk.

If it's big meals which cause you pain try eating less but more often ?
Have you been checked for gallstones, it could be what you are eating not quantity.
I understand, when you are a runner as I am too, you tend to eat larger meals than those that don't. Maybe ease up on the running until you see your doctor. good luck!
Well I am not following up with the doc as they said I’m ok and the pain will disappear as long as I avoid irritants (drugs and booze) and so far that is true. It’s just very very slow. I should also mention the pain is there whether I eat a lot or not it’s just less severe. I ate very strictly salads, chicken and vegetables for like a month and it did improve but was not fun. Still eating healthy though. Also the doctor made no suggestion of diet and I didn’t think to ask.
