Glad your having some tests done, hopefully should tell your cardiologist what's happening. I think you get your results quick if there is anything of concern they will get back to you. I am waiting for results of my echo, holter monitor, ecg and cardiac MRI have been waiting for 3 months I'm hoping to find out at my appointment next Tuesday x sorry to hear about your lack of appetite did you mention to your cardiologist or doctor??. Hope your tests go well and you not waiting to long for results 😉.
Thanks hope you’re doing ok and your results come back good ! I mentioned it to him he just said it won’t be anything to do with this issue I suppose he won’t no much until the tests come back x
Thanks hun. I'm doing better then I was just hasn't been a good few months for me so will be mentioning to my consultant x. Yeah the tests will tell them if your loss of appetite is heart related hope it isn't.
Things will get better. Your lack of appetite is more than likely temporary. Untill then, you should mindfully take care that you are taking nurishment, maybe ensure? You don't want to cause more stress to your body. Be Well!🥰
when I had mild then moderate stenosis, results took a week or two to filter through. However, when the stenosis became severe I got a phone call the next day.
Nowadays I have an annual two scans and the hospital now give results in minutes. What a brilliant improvement.
But I never had a case of monitoring over the next few weeks.
I was booked in for a stress test but before they did it they did a routine Echocardiogram. When they did that they picked up a congenital heart defect that I was blissfully unaware of which had deteriorated to the pint that I needed surgery. I was told this on the day, as I was putting my breathlessness down to being unfit and was pushing myself more and more to try and improve . If I'd carried on doing that I probably wouldn't have been around today. I had other tests after that and on average the results took about a month.
Speed of feedback on tests seems to depend on what is found. If serious very quick (think 1 week) - if not, seems to take longer. So maybe delay is silent good news ?
I also have Graves Disease - a highly over active thyroid so can't comment on the appetite. Have you told your GP about your peeing, and are you outputting lots each time or very little? I got the results from my echo on the same day. Good luck
My results are given to me on the day after a cardiologist reads them and due the same tests on 5th December so fingers crossed. The stress test might take a little bit longer depending if there is a cardiologist there to assess it but the echo should give an instant reading of your heart size, ejection fraction etc so dont be shy about asking the person doing it as soon as they finish. Best of luck.
Probably only a technician with no immediate access to a cardiologist so not qualified. Mine has a different system where the nurse that does the echo on the day is very clued in and gives you a fair idea of the results there and then. There is a cardiologist always there on the day who sees you afterwards and gives you the results etc. Great system although annual appointments can become 14-16 months due to work burden! but hey its better than a lot of places.
Had my echo and 24 hr ECG in May ,cardiologist rang within 4 hrs of taking my ECG back and said stop Bisoprolol ,haven’t heard nothing since ….disgusting !
Yes that’s why he stopped it ,but surely a check on my heart rate after 6 months , after stopping such an important Tablet would be important I’ve not heard a word .
I am sorry to hear about your loss of appetite and other health concerns. Sometimes it all can seem a bit overwhelming.
I live in the U.S. so times may be different for getting results.
The first test that I had done following my heart attack was a nuclear stress test. The hospital called it a SPECT 99mTc—Tetrofasmin myocardial perfusion study. That testing (on 04/11/2022) took a period of hours to complete, and I got my test results within one week (by 04/14/2022).
Since then, I have had a chest CT scan without contrast (04/2023), and I had those printed/written results within one day. My doctor left a brief note on my report for me to read the following day, and I had an appointment with her within two weeks.
In August 2023, I had a Transthoracic Complete Echocardiogram with contrast. The printed results from this test were available to me online by the time that I drove home. I did get a note from my cardiologist written to the report within 1-2 days; however, I did not get an appointment to see my doctor and discuss the results until November (a 3-month wait).
I honestly have no complaints about the “wait time” for getting test results. The problem is often that I have a printed copy of my test results, but I may have to wait weeks or months to speak with my doctors in order to discuss the results.
Hopefully, you will not have to wait long in order to receive your results and to get any explanations from your doctor. As of November 2023, I still do not know what is causing the problem that I have with difficulty breathing (which is the reason that I had the CT scan and echocardiogram).
This year I got echo results after about 3 weeks and holter monitor a week later. It depends on your hospital and how busy they are. Anything urgent you will hear quickly. Appetite is often related to worry and anxiety.
