Tiredness and Angina

Hi, I was diagnosed with stable angina after Christmas, I'm on Ramipril, Amlopidine, Bisoprolol and Isosorbide Mononitrate (60mgs every morning).

I had an echocardiogram last week and awaiting an angiogram but waiting lists here in West Wales are horrendous.

My query is this, does anybody else get absolutely shattered by the end of the day or after any form of exertion? I also feel really tired if I have an angina attack and need to use my GTN spray.

Welcome to the forum.Yes indeed, and it doesn't necessarily feel like that at the end of the day, it could be anytime. It can leave me feeling very fatigued.

Waiting times here in Devon are off the scale lately.

Keep your gtn with you at all times, I've got several in different locations just in case.

Yes, angina is a sign your heart is struggling, so the tiredness is no bad thing, as it does slow us down. But I find a GTN spray while giving me the expected headache, it also really drains me, and I need to take it easy/sleep for a few hours after.

Hi! Glad that you asked that question. I have felt too silly to ask it myself, but I have noticed, likewise, that I get very tired both after exercise, and especially after an angina attack. I think it must be part of me now and will improve with time. Hopefully, you will get get some answers from more experienced members. Take care

Dear 1959DarkBurst.

Hello to you, you are experiencing classic symptoms of the medication that you are on, you have to remember that I am not medically trained, but you are following a very worn path.

To be honest with you there is not a lot you can do but try to carry on until the real start of your treatment begins.

I feel for you I really do as it can pull you down, take things slowly { yes slower than normal } and realise that you are not alone and we are here to help the best we can.

Once all your tests are done and you have your full meeting with your cardiologist, she/he will map out your journey and if you like we will go on that together.

Take care

I am absolutely shattered all the time but even though I have been taken off ramipril and given candetan instead, I feel the same so not sure I can blame ramipril.

I check my stats with my oximeter daily.vSometimes, with bisprolol , my heart rate is very low. I feel tired then. Check with your doctor.
