ECG ? After having problems with BP medication and unstable BP readings my Doctor has arranged for me to have an ECG......why? I am currently on Felodipine 2.5mg and BP is stable but bit low at night and I am waking up with headache and feeling panicky each morning. Anyone else having similar problems ?

Blood Pressure problems / ECG
ECG is standard with anything to do with the heart. The doctor will want to see your ECG to see if there are any signs of anything that might be behind the unstable BP, the electrical representation (ECG) could identify multiple things from a previous heart attack, arrhythmia's or some structural heart issues or equally there could be nothing, you may just need to change meds, BP meds are notoriously difficult to get correct straight away, it is nearly always a case of trying a few to see what works best.
It's absolutely nothing to worry about and standard 12 lead ECG will take a couple of minutes. If they see anything they will probably order more tests. Don't worry it's best they find the cause of the unstable BP or if there is anything else going on as they can treat that.
All of this is 100% par for the course with anything heart/cardio vascular related.
