Hi I'm new on here hello everyone, I already posted x1 as I've been on Doxazosin 1mg for blood pressure now going to start Bisoprolol 2.5 instead, have had meds changes several times, for blood pressure was on Ramipril, Losartan, then Amlodipine, but had negative reactions to them, a real bad cough with Ramipril, so anyone got good things to say about Bisoprolol, as nervous now of all of them, thanks.

Bisoprolol starting on 2.5mgs
Morning Rohan,
Have been on Bisopropol for the last 5 years since OHS have had no issues with it. Husband as been on it for high blood pressure for the last 20 years again with no issues.
We do have some members here that do have problems, but like with all medications we can react differently. I had the dreaded Ramipril cough and was changed to Cardesartan. Fingers crossed you will have no side effects from Bisopropol .
Best wishes Pauline
It can make heartrate a bit low and make you tired or a bit spaced out but you won't know till you try.I started on 1.25 then 2.5 then 3.75 but I'm now back to 1.25 a day and can just about manage.
Good luck.
Ive used bisoprolol since my LAD Stemi last June aged 43. Was on 5mg daily initially but I had the dose reduced to 2.5 as it was reducing my BP a little too much and I was feeling rough with it..been fine for the last year. never had issues with ramipril, I also take monomil (like a slow release gtn) and a 75 aspirin daily as well as a atorvastatin to keep cholesterol in check and I've been ok.. hope you find the right one x
I initially was put on 1.25 leading up to my bypass in 2017 once I had the by pass it was increased to 2.5 I have to admit it hasn't been a problem to me.2 weeks ago I had 2 stents fitted and have had 4 more tablets added to my daily regime, 2 weeks later and still no change. Long may that continue.
Good luck I hope you are as lucky.
I have been on 10 mg for about a year, with no side-effects besides feeling dozy mid-afternoon, and the hot legs some people report. We are all different in our responses.
Rohan I am new to this site. But was diagnosed with PAF in September and put on Bisopropol but had to come off it after 2 days due to lowering my heart rate to much. I was diagnosed with borderline LVH in 2017 and have taken my BP every morning before breakfast. That's how I knew my heart rate was to low. I was told to stop it if that happened.
I was given Dronedarone and have had no problems with that. Also on Apixaban and no problems.
I have been taking Ramipril for years. Was taking Amlodipine but AF clinic took that straight off me due to my swollen lower legs the swelling has gone down.
Hope this has helped
Hi I have been on it a few years now. Everything good. For a start it might make you feel tired/light headed for a week or so bbut stick with it. I did and after a week or two the tiredness etc disappears x
Hi Roban, I had similar reaction to Ramipril. I'm on 5mg Bisoprolol (18 months) and have no adverse reactions.
Best wishes,
Jim
You should be fine on bisoprolol, stick with it as the body needs to adjust to the meds but if you feel anything on bisoprolol you may just feel a bit “chilled out man “ It’s you friend
Almost two years after bypass OP my dosage of Bisopropol is 1.25. My doctor wanted to double it but I refused because my heartbeat went below 60. Else no sideeffects and I keep on taking a little Bisopropol daily.
I started on 3.75mg Bisoprolol after my HA. Had severe postural hypotension, almost passing out when I stood up after sitting for a while. I'm now on 1.25mg, though I still get some hypotension issues at times. Pulse rate sits around 55bpm resting. While Bisoprolol doesn't help my Raynauds, I'm happy to live with it for the protection it provides. 😀
I also had the cough from ramapril. I’ve been absolutely fine on bisoprolol. I am on 2.5 mg per day so take two tablets per day one in morning and one at night 1.25mg each time. Hope all goes well for you .
I have been on Bisoprolol 2.5 mg for 3 months with no problems. I couldn't take Ramipril because it gave me horrendous indigestion and heartburn. I also take Perindopril, Atorvastatin, and Rivaroxaban.
Hi Robyn, I’ve been taking it for about a month now due to HF it can make you feel really tired and making my BP fluctuate and be on the low side, but besides that I have had no other side effects from it.
I've been on a once daily Bisoprolol 1.25mg (+300mg aspirin) taken first thing in the morning since April 2019 and for me it has been life-changing in a very very good way. I love that little white tab and can't imagine trying to go without it. But everyone is different and not everyone has good results - keep a log the first month or so you're on it, making note of any side effects you experience to see how your body and conditions are responding.
Best to read the leaflet line-for-line paying especial attention to potential side effects and then check the leaflets arriving with repeat prescriptions to ensure you are up-to-date on any changes (I worked that out 'the hard way' and now routinely check and save the leaflets with each new box).
Hi Rohan , sorry you’ve had bad reactions to the meds , iv been on Ramipriland Bisoprolo for about 3 weeks and up to now not had any bad reactions it might be early I don’t know , hope the new meds work better for you , let us know how you get on .
Thanks I will 🙂
