16 weeks post CABG and my leg wound has become infected. So far Flucloxacillin has not made any difference. Started course 24 hours ago. Picking up Cephalexin from chemist tomorrow to start if no effect after 48 hours. Anyone else had this happen? Dr mentioned IV penicillin in passing . Everything crossed that leg starts to improve overnight. I’m a Type 1 diabetic

Hi there. I had the same issues when I had a bypass and it turned out (after several courses of antibiotics) that i was anaemic. The doctor gave me iron tablets and it sorted it in no time. Not sure with your diabetes if this is possible or not but might be worth discussing that possibility with your GP? Good luck!

Thanks Clairealou. Thankfully leg looks slightly better today. Penicillin might have started to work but I’ll mention it to my GP on Monday when I check in with her. It just happened out of the blue. 🤷‍♀️
