Whistling chest

Hi, can anyone explain why only at night time I can hear a whistling and crackling sound when breathing? It's been happening for a while now and is becoming quite annoying as it disturbs my sleep. Should I go to my gp. I have a severe case of LVH and an icd fitted 16 months ago. I'm on atorvastatin, bisoprolol, amiodarone, omeprazole, clopidogrel fureosomide.

I'd appreciate if anyone could let me know if they've experienced this?

Do you have a heart nurse you can speak to? If not then yes speak to your GP. your meds may need adjusting.

One of the effects of amiodarone is stiffening of the walls of the lungs, which can result in long term damage. Read up on the leaflet that accompanies this drug and do some research about the effects of this powerful drug. Then go and see your GP. Do you have a care plan agreed between the hospital and your GP for regular blood tests, etc, every 6 months?

Hello lanc2

Amiodarone was one I started a few months ago and was told it's a powerful drug. That's interesting zo I will certainly research it more.thankyou for highlighting that fact
