I am interested to know if anyone found the injection painful? My first was in the thigh and I am wondering if next time to try the arm or stomach area? Or am I just being a big baby?! 🫣

Hi

I self inject Dupilumab once a fortnight and yes… I think it does sting quite a bit!

However, I find that it hurts less in my arms than thigh/stomach. This is a problem though as you can’t self inject into your arms. You need someone else to do that for you - no good for me as hubby is not needle friendly!😜

This is just my opinion though as I know that some people much prefer the stomach area.

Anyhow - sorry not much help really but I am sympathetic to the cause! Let me know if you discover a pain free alternative.

Good Luck 🤞

HiThank you for your kind wishes. I am hoping that I will feel calmer next time...that's in two weeks at the hospital.

Luckily my hubby is keen to administer it ( I really don't know if I will ever be able to face doing it myself) so I am going to try my arm.

I feel so stupid worrying about this.

Thank you Margerita...I am hoping that the more times I have the injections the easier it will become. I have to say the first one was rather a shock!

It is a little bit ouchy/stingy but worth it to breath. I do it in my stomach. I imagine if you do it in an area where you have a bit of extra fat to grab onto might help. Luckily I have several fatty ateas to hold onto! 🤣

Yes it's very ouchy! 😅 but as you so rightly say a few seconds of pain is well worth it...I too have many fatty places!

No…they hurt!! Not on them now but used to ice the area then psyche myself up to pushing the button. Always had a large red area after.

Thanks for your comments Evie3. I admire you for self administering. My big worry (that's if I do it myself) is that as soon as I felt the pain I would remove the needle and all the fluid would run out🫣!!

I had mine in the arm and felt like it was a burning sensation, I did not like it! But I didn't have any reaction afterward on the site, not even red. Hoping I'll get used to it.
