I have followed a similar path to many of painkillers and treatments. But two months ago I was so lucky to find some relief. And I can't put this down to any particular treatment or medication. Through a 24 hour day, and for different treatments, I take Glucosamine. Rivaroxaban. Amlodipine. Atorvastatin. I also take paracetamol.
At the same time I started with the Amlodipine for my blood pressure my osteoarthritis eased by 90%. Comments I have received at my doctors tend to say that it may be the Glucosamine starting to work. I am unsure about this for I was taking Glucosamine long before this improvement. I find I can reduce the paracetamol from six tablets to four tablets per day. I have my fingers crossed!
Should there be any change I will update this post.

Hi easit; I had knee pain many, many years ago and was recommended Glucosamine with Chondroitin, MSM & Vitamin C supplement (usually come in one package). It took about 3 months before it took effect (may vary with different people). Quite a noticeable difference. Before knee would sometimes slip sideways and nearly give way; that problem ceased after the three months. I still take two tabs a day but the arthritis has got a lot worse a decade or two later and I'm now classed as disabled. However I'm sure it still helps a bit.
I'm also on Rivaroxaban. Amlodipine and Atorvastatin but those have shown no improvement to the arthritis so pretty sure your relief is caused by the Glucosamine; make sure you go for the strongest version.
Amlodipine is probably increasing blood flow to your joints. It's not often you get beneficial side effects from medications for other conditions, but for example Viagra was designed to treat heart conditions and there have been reports of statins helping epileptics. I tried Glucosamine for years too with little or no effect. May your pain relief continue.
