Hi, hope you all are having a great day. Hopefully you can help me with some adivice. Have you ever experience a sort of ongoing dizziness when sitting up? It feels like being pushed but you strugle to keep your feet grounded. Is like you are a half filled bootle and feel the pull when moved. I'm on my 12th week of treatment with Fluoxetine,10mg. I was worst when i started and got progresivly better. I still get this dizziness. I don't know if is the medication, at some point it seemed to disepear. I don't feel it as much in the morning before I take my medication but could be just a coincidence. I do feel the medication helps but i also get an unsetling sense of calm that translate in this sort of dizziness. I feel almost floaty. I personally think the dose should be enough. I think my brain is very sensitive to chemicals as an example I don't usualy drink but when I do I feel the buzz from a half a glass of beer. Need to mention that i suspect my anxiety was trigered after issues with a ear. Ear specialist said all fine. So what coult it be? Anxiety, mediacation, or ear problems. I would much appreciate your input. Thanks 😊

Anxiety dizziness
Hi LemonyGrace, unfortunately many issues can play into how we feel from day to day.
It may not always be about Anxiety as other factors come into play.
The Ear can certainly trigger anxious feelings when feeling dizzy or off balance. Even
after 12 weeks, your medication can affect your sense of balance. Please talk with your
doctor regarding not only the dosage but also the time of day it should be taken. Sometimes
a small change like that can make a big difference.
Have your doctor check your blood pressure while lying down, sitting up and standing up
to see if there are any changes causing the dizziness.
Be honest with your doctor with regards in having alcohol while on these pills.
It can have some significant side effects as well.
Always make sure you are well hydrated since that can provoke dizziness as well.
All in all, this boils down to you having your doctor address your concerns.
Wish you well xx
Thank you for your reply Agora. Need to clarify that I do not drink on medication. Just it seems that my brain might be sensitive to chemicals as I have low alchool tolerance. I will have a word again with my GP but not sure if it will go anywere. Had an EKG and all fine. I have another appoinment for my ear at the end of september, if no improvment till then hope they could do a more in detail check then last time. Sunny days
That's anxiety I have that everyday like your on a rocky boat
Hi Moggie8, Thank you for your reply. I think you are right, is the anxiety. I think i needed more time to adjust to the medication, feeling better these days since I've decided to trust the process and let go of negative thoughts. It feels like the dizziness is linked to negative feelings, and as soon as I focus on the bright sides, it goes away. I also noticed that probably my tollerance for BS was so high that I didn't even notice that I was bothered by some situations. Now, whenever I feel anxious, I try to identify what exactly is that I'm feeling and why. Best wishes!
