I took one once that gave me horrible loose bowls. Yikes. I am not certain it made a difference in how I felt overall. Medications like zoloft simply numb me a bit. I suppose if I don't want to feel anything I would take the zoloft like they would prefer me to. Sadly I just can't go back to feeling nothing.

I was on 30MG daily for 15 years. I never had an issue with my stomach, until i got off of them. We have seretonin receptors in our stomachs, so it's possible it can affect it some way, but withdrawal definitely did affect my stomach. Missing the dose "may" have affected your stomach, but they always told me that i was on a low dose; & the fact that you have only been on it a few weeks makes me unsure this would be the cause of your upset stomach.

I take this and have done for about 10yrs now. My advice would be to stick with it a little longer. The side effects should ware off. I've taken a number of different meds over the years and its always the same. Hang in there, your not alone 🙂

Hi Worryingladycouple of weeks is too early for citalopram to work. I was on 10 mg for more than a year. initially, I felt sick with the med...like loose bowls, dry mouth and heavy sweating..etc..but after 3-4 weeks everything was normal and my health anxiety was also under control. So my suggestion is just hang on with the med for a couple of weeks more and see...

Best wishes

hi x did you experience weak and aching muscles with this dose? Wake up in panic waves of anxiety. Only sleep for a few hours too.

No muscle aches/cramps. but as I mentioned, Panic waves were there during the initial days (I still get waves of panic, but I tell myself that It's ok..nothing to worry). Also, I used to sleep only 3-4 hours/day. I used to listen to guided meditation videos on YouTube while on bed. It took me almost 6 weeks to get better sleep (I mean about 6 hours).

So hang on and everything will be ok... Best wishes
