Hello everyone, I have joined in the hope that I could speak with people going through & dealing with similarities to myself, but more so mainly my husband.
Having recently been diagnosed with PTSD, and the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with it, he has been prescribed Sertraline (which he is yet to start).
Upon the NHS website, you are recommended to take the tablet in the morning if you have trouble sleeping, as insomnia is a common side effect. However, he already suffers insomnia, so we do not know when is best to begin this medication.
Would anyone be able to offer some guidance, and be our light at the end of a very long, and dark tunnel? Thank you in advance

hypercat54 Hi, thank you so much for your response. That is so interesting to know, because my husband was on mitrazapine (but had to stop due to the side affects), but we were not made aware of being able to take both.
I will certainly be enquiring about this. Thank you 🙂
Good I'm glad I helped a bit. I had to try 2 others meds including mirtazapine before I settled on sertraline. I had to stop the mirtazapine as I was working at the time and it made me too sleepy so the doctor decided to keep me on this for my insomnia.
I hope the combination works as well for your husband.
Jiwa Hi Jiwa, my husband only took mitrazapine for 2 weeks and was taken off them due to the adverse reactions. But in the time of taking them, he had a loss of appetite.
