I’ve had a lot going on lately, and currently I’m struggling with depression as a result. I got my grades back from college and they were all solid Cs and Ds. I don’t want to flunk out of college. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Depression in college
I'm sorry you are struggling with depression and school. My daughter and I have been there. You have a lot going on and you have to make your mental health a priority. Maybe you should take a break for a semester. Know your options.
I’m taking like two classes over the summer to try and get my gpa back up. Plus I’ve had issues with people at school who won’t be there over the summer so I’m hoping I’ll be able to work it out, but I’ll definitely look into that if not
Sounds like whatever you have going on is definitely interfering with your ability to concentrate in school. Taking time off to deal with whatever is happing is a good idea, I took a semester off in college when I was going through a hard time.
There are free services for students to speak to counselors (non-academic) on campus to talk about your depression. You could look into some of those. Also, think of how you can further separate yourself from the people who are also a source of negativity for you. If none of these options work, then I agree taking a semester off can help you recharge.
I'm sorry your suffering. Do you have a therapist? I plan on going to job corps which is like college and i'm worried about how i will handle my depression as well.
Yes, I’ve been seeing at my college. She’s been helpful, but still she can only do so much you know?
True, i understand that. You can always talk to me. I'm here and you got my full support. What do you feel like you need right now?
That’s a good question. Time I guess? My last 3 months have been hell. First my bf cheated, then I found out I was pregnant, then he let his family and gf harass me and convinced them I was lying and I was trying to make them be involved, to miscarrying, to losing friends because said ex convinced them I lied. There’s just alot
Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how you feel but sweety please reach out for help. Please. Try telling your therapist if she can give you some resources that can help you even more like a support group for miscarriage loss, and depression. I'm so sorry😟 i will pray for you and hope everything will turn out alright. Don't worry about your ex, what comes around goes around and that's a fact. Everyone who thought you lied for whatever reason they will get theirs too honey. Don't even surround yourself with those people and they ain't worth it even if they are family. It's the truth. Toxic people like them don't need to be in your life. You gotta move on to bigger and better. They have to answer to God in the end, especially your ex. He should be ashamed and hopefully one day he will learn to treat women better and be faithful and respectful.
Please private message me anytime you want. I'm here 24/7❤
I have personally had this issue myself. I have been in college since 2013, I did get a few Academic Warnings, Academic Probations and I have constantly had to retake classes over again. You aren't alone in this at all. Here recently, I graduated from college and walked across the stage then learned I failed a few classes and had to go right back. This semester was about to end just as tragic as many others but when I talked to my therapist about the situation she mentioned that it is possible to go to disability resources for students at my university and ask for an incomplete in the class so that I can have the opportunity to improve my grade. So I'm sure you know what its like to struggle with schoolwork and your emotions and coping with everything going on, its very easy to get behind...but asking for help or assistance is OK even when you don't want to ask. I dont know how this semester will turn out yet but I feel a lot more hopeful than I was a couple weeks ago. My diagnosis is very recent and I have only just started treatment for my depression but if I had known this all along then I would have looked for that resource a long time ago! Thankfully, my professors are giving me an extra 45 days to complete the coursework and I am hoping I will pass. I am sure if you tell your professors about your situation and your struggle with depression, they will do what they can to work with you. If your school has resources for disabilities, make an appointment to talk with them about what is going on in your classes. Some campuses even have depression support groups to talk with other students about it. The disability resources counselor should be able to email your teachers to help notify them that you need some assistance provided to you. Even though it is awkward to ask and difficult to talk about with people about it, it can't hurt to at least ask and communicate with your school so they can make sure you can do just as well as everyone else. I know you can do this and keep moving forward. I know from my experience that it sucks but just try your best. If you need advice let me know and I am here to talk. Don't let your grades make you feel discouraged, GPA does not define who you are. Just try your best and work through it, you've got this!!
