Warfarin.

I've done it again. Usually, I take my Warfarin at about 6 in the evening. Today I took it at about 11.30 am. I hope this won't cause any problems. This has happened a couple of times before. Everything seemed to be ok then. I worried my blood was too thin. I suppose it will even itself out.

The timing for warfarin is very loose and it tends to average over time so please don't worry.

Personally and based on my experience of stopping and restarting Warfarin many times over the last 14 years ... my feeling is all thats happened is you've taken it early. Thats all. Not as if you've stopped it and missed a few days of doses. As long as thats your only sin, and you've been taking it regularly prior, then you'll be fine. Just take your next dose on time please ! 😂

I've had to stop it for 6 days, and not take any at all in that time, had knee replacement surgery and survived! To get me kicked started again all they did was give me 2 injections of a bridging anticoagulant, then I went back on Warfarin .......... no sweat.

I take my Warfarin mid breakfast each day, I find it easier to remember it that way. Made my stomach sore taking it at night.

I set a reminder on my phone @ 18.00 everyday

I thought you had 10 hours after forgetting to take it but have checked the leaflet and it just says to take it as soon as you remember (which is good as I sometimes forget to take it with me) unless it is near to taking the next dose in which case just continue with the normal dose. I also remember being told that Coumadin (Warfarin) is a top up dose and it actually remains in your system for around 3 days. I may be wrong I will have to look at the leaflet again! I take mine around 4 pm as I used to get the grandchildren from nursery at this time and it was easy to remember to take before I left home. I now seem to have an internal clock that usually reminds me.

I take mine at tea time. If your worried about this ring your Chemist for advice.
